Travelling with baby

My husband, DS and I will be flying to see our family at next week for Thanksgiving. Our DS is 3 months old and I was just wondering if anyone had advice for travelling with baby, what to bring etc.We made sure to get a flight around his nap time so hopefully he won't be fussy on the plane. Also, should I BF him during landing and take off? I heard that it rellieves pressure in their ears.

Thanks!

He should be pretty easy to travel with. Have two changes of clothes for each of you and plastic bags in your carry on, sadly that's personal experience! I flew with DD at 13 months and nursed at take off and landing and she did perfectly, other than falling asleep while nursing and only sleeping 35mins the whole day. I would have some crunchy toys/books, and new things for LO to look at.

Good luck!

Honestly, this is the easiest age to travel with a baby! Definitely nurse at takeoff and landing. If she won't nurse at those times, try having her suck on a pacifier or your finger. Using a baby carrier also makes the airport a breeze.

I always nursed DS on takeoff - then he'd fall asleep and usually wouldn't wake until after we landed, so nursing during landing was never necessary.  If your LO is awake at that time, then definitely nurse him then, too.  Take at least one change of shirt for you & your DH, and at least one extra outfit for LO, in the carry-on.  Make sure you have a couple of blankets of different weights (I always take an A&A swaddle blanket since it's super lightweight and a heavier, fuzzy blanket) since the temperature on an airplane can be unpredictable.  At 3 months, I never found the need to entertain DS on the plane, so much more than that is probably not necessary.

I'm fairly certain I forget what babies are like and when they start playing and DD is only 2.5!

We just got back from a long trip (FL to MN) and we drove and LO did great! I think its great to travel during their sleepy times which we drove at night and he slept the entire drive! What really saved us was using our white noise app (he uses this to sleep at home) and I believe it was something familiar in an unfamiliar place and he slept so peacefully. I've never flown with him but I've heard BF does help with pressure!

We just got back from a trip with our 8-week old, and I second the baby carrier. It was a breeze getting around the airport and through security, plus my LO is happier when I hold him than when he's in his car seat. I think you can check your stroller and car seat if you need to bring them. The plane was no problem - if you can sit near the engines (over the wing) the whole thing is like a big white noise machine.
