NBR Christmas delima

so, DH and I have agreed to do a "free or under $5" gift for each other this year since we are pretty tight financially. Now he got a hold of a violin for free(someone gave him something that someone else needed and he traded up)!! I have always wanted to play violin since I was little, and he didn't even know that when he got the violin, but now he's going to paint it, replace the string that's missing, and get rosin for the bow, and bam he has the BEST Christmas present I think I'll get this year...

so now... I have NO IDEA what to get him!!!  I don't even know where to start... any ideas?

well.. first of all, what are his hobbies?

What are his interests? Does he like hand made things?

You could look on craigslist, freecycle, or look for an opportunity to trade like he did.

Or you could make him "coupons" for things he likes--favorite meal, back rub, you doing one of his chores--things like that.

He loves music and art

He plays D&D(dungeons and dragons)

He has a surfboard and skateboard so he likes those activities too... he's pretty versatile in his interests

If he likes music and art you might find some old records with music that he likes and frame them in a large frame together. You can do the same with cds, but I like the idea of records better.

What about making him a "coupon" that says you will watch the baby once he/she are born for a 6-hour gaming session with his buds?  My husband also plays and he's not so sure how it will work out after the baby is born!
