zofran

I have been trying to wean myself off of zofran for about 3 months now and still if I don't take it for one day I feel terrible all day long. Is anyone else still taking zofran this far along and has anyone heard of any negative side effects to the baby? Can I just keep taking them and stop feeling bad about it or should I be trying to chill on taking it every morning?

You really need to ask your doctor and/or pharmacist this question.

Yes, I mean obviously I have and they are the ones prescribing it... She said it's not absorbed by the body so it's fine, but I guess I just wondered if anyone else's doctor was telling them anything different?

I still take mine. If I dont I will throw up. If there were negative effects the doctor wouldnt have prescribed it to you.

I still take Reglan (and that does have possible side effects) but I've discussed with my doctor and we feel its a good decision for me in light of my HG, continued vomitting, low weight gain, etc.  I also took meds the whole time during my last pregnancy.  Some people, unfortunately, need it.  Sounds like your doctor's given you the green light but if you're still concerned, discuss it with her again.

This.

I still take mine at 27 weeks and we plan on leaving me on it the duration of the pregnancy. It doesn't get absorbed and therefore can't cross the placental barrier there is no risk too baby. Keep taking whatever you need to take to keep you healthy and functional your LO will be just fine!

I am.  Not every day, but when I get a break for a few days I usually pay for it later and end up taking a few doses in a day.  I hate taking it though because I get SO miserably constipated when I take it every day.

If it comforts you at all my last pregnancy I took it every 4-6 hours around the clock (and was still vomiting several times a day) and now have a healthy, happy, very "normal" 3 year old.  It didn't seem to affect her at all.

I still take Zofran and Phenergan 2-3 times daily. If I didn't, I would be throwing up everything I eat.

I took Zofran twice a day from 6 weeks until I delivered.  My OB recommended I do this, so I could actually keep food and water down.  Otherwise I threw everything up throughout my entire pregnancy.  I tried to wean myself several times to no avail.

Yes, ask your OB.  But from my experience it is very safe.
