transition to crib ?

My Lo currently sleeps in a RnP next to me at night. He is 6 wks. We have his crib set up in his nursery but I have not begun to have him sleep at all in it. When are others starting to use cribs? When is a good time to start sleep training? I want him transitioned prior to starting back to work but wasn't sure how soon was too early. I am staying out of work for 12 weeks.

You can transition to crib as soon as you're ready. Sleep training shouldn't really start until after 4 months. Babies can't self soothe until then, nor are they capable of making the connections ready. Keep in mind that not all babies need to be sleep trained, either.

When DD starts napping more regularly I will start putting her in the crib during the day.

I kept DD1 in my room until almost 5months bc she slept horribly and we coslept part of the night sometimes to save my sanity.

I'll probably move her around 4 months unless she starts to sleep well through the night earlier.

I didn't sleep train DD1 until 15 months bc it was out of control and I tried everything else. I wouldn't even consider trying until 6 months. And pp is right, you might not need to train. But please don't try at 12 weeks.

I've been putting LO in his crib to nap since he came home and he uses his swing in there.  I think this helps him to get used to his room and not be scared of a new place.  I plan to start putting him to bed for the night in there this weekend.  I don't think anytime is too early or too late.  It all depends on you and how comfortable you feel!

I'm planning on starting next month for naps in the crib. DD will be 2 months. We'll keep her in our room at night until 4 or 5 months.

With DS, we did the same as above. We didn't start sleep training until 5 months. He did great and has been an awesome crib sleeper ever since.

DD is 9 weeks and has been in her crib since 6 weeks. There really was no transition. One night i put her crib and turned on monitor. Everyone has been sleeping better. I do think baby is too young for traditional sleep training CIO but not too young to learn/form good sleep habits.
