The waiting is killing me.

Hey Everyone I have been hanging around reading the TTC threads for a while now, and I am hoping that I am on the right track with the charting and everything... I just would like to vent a little, I am sure a lot of you can relate.

Its our first month TTC. We have a gorgeous 16 month old LG, and last month, after much consideration, decided to go ahead and start TTC for nr 2.

I had my AF starting on the 27th of Oct, O'd around the 10th of November (still not 100% sure as its only my second month off BCP) and made sure to do the baby dance when I was most fertile... CM was perfect according to the dates...

So now I wait... and wait... and wait.

And I KNOW I shouldn't have, but I took a HPT last night and got a BFN. Obviously...

I am just so impatient...and because I am not 100% sure of my cycle yet, the waiting is even worse.

Any advice ladies?

Lots of baby dust to you all x

To be honest, charting my temp seemed daunting - I only visited fertilityfriend.com 11 days into my cycle, so that's only when I really understood how it worked.

Still learning. Early days. would really appreciate some advice.

Wanted to add -

Seeing as I could have had my O dates wrong, I applied the "when in doubt, hump it out" theory, but I saw obvious changes in my CM that I am hoping were interpreted correctly.

Charting is super easy.

Get a BBT that reads to .01. make sure you wake up the same time (within reason 30 mins either way) every day and as soon as your alarm goes off take your temp. On weekends I temp and go back to sleep. enter temps and other signs you have into fertility friend and it does the rest!

FF has lots of "classes" etc on their website, I have read a few and they are helpful. Charting has helped me figure out my cycle I don't O until CD20 most months and would have probably not figured that out without temping!

ETA if you actually did O on the 10th I think that is what the original message said, you would only be 6 days past ovulation and that is way to early to test. wait a few more days and test again! (once a week until AF shows or you get a positive)

Thank you...

TTC seems a lot more complicated than I thought. I conceived my LG on the pill and had no idea.

Is it too late for me to start temping now? Should I start after AF?

Have started reading the FF mails, thanx, and also, promised myself I would not be stupid again and won't test again till the 24/11.

Thanx for your help.

Wait until next cycle (if you're not KU) to start temping - it will only confuse you now.

As for fertile CM - a lot of women here get fertile CM at various points throughout their cycle.  I get it almost daily.  Just a head's up.

Once you start charting your temp, using OPKs, and checking CM, you'll start to see a pretty clear picture of your cycle.  Just know that every cycle has the potential to be 'off' once and awhile.  Don't fret too much over it.  Smile

I am sooooo bad at waiting to test.  I hate.it.so.much.  I've wasted many dollar stores tests for peace of mind.

I eased into charting.  First I tracked my period dates for a month, then added temps.  I didn't add OPKs until after my miscarriage (so, cycle #5).  If you have an active sex life then you may be hitting your fertility window anyways.  Charting is an individual preference.  Some months I am gung-ho about it and others I hump it out a lot with DH just to cover my bases because I need a temping break.

Anyway, GL and welcome to the board.

Fret too much? LOL, its consumed all my thoughts and I seem to be getting a tad obsessed - already. *control freak*

Will def start temping as soon as AF arrives, hoping she does, but also obviously hoping she doesn't.

What a mind f*ck TTC is!

You say you have been hanging around for a while now... but honestly, this post says otherwise. Post in the 2ww with other ladies in the same situation. An HPT can tell you a hell of a lot more than any of us can. Good luck. Just lurk and search before you post - 90% of the time, someone has already asked it and you can check out the responses they got.

Get some new hobbies. Seriously. Read, do some crafts, bake/cook... it helps pass the time.

I think the worst part of it all is waiting to test... and the mindgames!!!

I will start taking my temp next month, still feel like its going to be daunting to chart EVERYTHING, but will give it a go, I will probably lose my mind if I don't. But will probably lose my mind during this process anyway...

I thought the same thing.

TTC is a total mind game, it's true. Distractions are key. Charting is not as daunting as it seems. It can take a little bit of time to get the hang of it, but it really only takes a couple of minutes a day and the info is invaluable.

Good luck.

All this after just one cycle?

My advice... .calm down and try and relax. Stop peeing on sticks till your using OPKs or missed AF, Start reading Taking Charge of My Fertility and use FF.com. I truly hope you don't but you could have a long road ahead of you and hanging around here will be a great support for you. But really.. you have to stay busy. PP all had wonderful advice for you!

Good luck, hope your stay here is short and you get your BFP soon
