My favorite are the ones who say "You still can't tell your pregnant! You aren't showing at all!" Really? Because I know this soccer ball I'm carrying around wasn't there before.

I get this a lot even now at almost 7 months (less than a week away). I take it as a compliment. It's either "oh I wasn't sure it looked like you were just gaining weight" or "you are huge". I got the huge comments with Z since I wasn't watching what I was eating and I like to believe I carry girls really well. :) However; I am the least offended person in the world.

I had a guy at work say I had no idea you were pregnant, I thought you had a gut like me. Now mind you the pic I have there is 12 weeks, I now look like I'm about 8 months+ pregnant! I just had to laugh, some people have zero common sense or etiquette!

People are damned if they do, and damned if they don't when it comes to pregnant women.  They comment that you definitely are bigger or comment on how far along you are- they're insensitive for daring to comment on it.  They say "wow, I couldn't even tell" and you're pissed that they don't think you look pregnant enough.


Gonna be a loooong 9 months, ladies.

I know nobody means anything by it - just strange to think that people have been checking me out thinking that.  

I guess the worst would be the other way around - gaining a few pounds and then having people say "Oh, I thought you were pregnant"  :)

Personally, I think the only appropriate response is "Congratulations; you look great!"  I don't feel it is appropriate to make remarks about people's appearance such as "you look like you've gained weight" when they aren't pregnant, so I don't think people should make those comments about a pregnant woman either.  Just my two cents!  This time around I am MUCH less sensitive about these types of comments, but I completely understand why it bothers women to hear it.

Ugh. When I first announced that I was pregnant at work some guy said "Oh yeah, I can see it in your face, you look puffier." I hadn't gained a single pound by that time. I wanted to be like "And you wonder why you're still single, huh?" I would never comment on someone's weight under any circumstance, it's just so inappropriate! People are so rude.
