Let's Give It Another Shot

My boyfriend and I decided that we would start trying to have a baby. The only problem is we have been pregnant before and I lost her at almost 5 months. I have a weird cervix, it is to the left instead of straight in the middle. I think that it was a factor for when I lost Autumn. They told me it was because she was not growing right. I feel that when it is time it will come. But I am so nervous because I can't lose another baby, and I feel for all the couples who are experiencing the same problem as us. (Sorry for the personal info) We started last night, I am tracking ovulation and I ovulate on Monday, so I have my fingers crossed and so does he. I just need to feel like I am not a complete freak for not being able to do the main thing I was put on this earth to do.. be a mommy. Which is something I want so bad.

No, she ovulates on Monday.  He just joins her in crossing fingers, not the ovulation.

ETA: I had the wrong info.  Right sentiment, but wrong info.

First, I am so sorry for your loss.  I can only imagine the pain you went through and the healing you are still going through.

The other posters are suggesting that you may not be correctly educated about predicting ovulation.  Ovulation is something that you can't know happened until it's already done.  Charting helps you make a prediction of when about you usually ovulate and you can use OPKs to help you with that prediction.  It is very unlikely that you ovulate at the same time every cycle.  If you are interested in charting, you should pick up Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  Otherwise, I wouldn't bother tracking your cycles at all because it could lead you into a false fertility window and possibly cause you to ignore your actual fertility window.

I hope that made sense.  Welcome to the board and GL!

Gawd, you guys are bunch of b*tches.

OP, I am sorry for your loss. Like PP's said Fertility Friend is a great resource even if you don't plan to take your temperature. Read the tutorials on their site.

Most of us use Wondfo OPKs and HPTs  (Amazon) since they are cheap and effective. Peeonastick.com is also a great site for all of your pee stick related questions.

Welcome and good luck.

OP, so sorry for your loss. You should start tracking your cycles using fertility friend, it is a great free resource.

Have doctors ever mentioned the position of your uterus? Having a tilted or retroverted uterus can make your cervix position a little strange. Most of the time, the uterus will straighten its position during pregnancy but sometimes it does not.

Welcome to the board!

I don't know what you're doing to track your ovulation, but I highly recommend temping, checking your CM, and using OPKs if you're looking to really know what's going on.

I also recommend that you read the "Welcome" thread:  http://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/42877040.aspx

It's full of helpful TTC information and is a great place to start when you're first joining this board.  It definitely helped me out when I was new.

Good luck!

OP, I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope your stay here is short and sweet and you have your take home baby very soon.

The other posters have given some wonderful advice to help you on your TTC journey. Ive learned so much from this board, and how much the things we were taught about our cycles “back in the day” were so very wrong! Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great read. Its also really nice to feel like you have some “control” on this journey (temping, using OPKs, ect). Good luck to you!

As someone who also has a freakish placed cervix and retroverted uterus, I just wanted to tell you to STOP BLAMING YOURSELF. You think it was your cervix, did a doctor tell you that? I've seen women with cervix/uteruses in the most bizarre positions... and never has one had a fertility problem... and most were older women with tons of children and grandchildren.

Chin up, and read the newbie link. Very sorry for your loss.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I would hope your doctor would have told you if they thought the tilted cervix was the reason for your loss. Have you thought about calling them to ask? Maybe it would put your mind at ease. Good luck.

Op, I am sorry for your loss. The other ladies said it best.

Those of you who came in here and did NOTHING but berate her for not properly tracking her cycles, which you don't KNOW she isn't doing "correctly" need to shut.up.

It's painfully obvious that you are new and trying desperately to seem as though you fit in and have tons of knowledge to share. Your desire to do both of these things is normal.

HOWEVER, parroting what you've heard here with blatant disregard to the rest of the post (do not berate someone who talks about loss in her first post. Welcome her, offer sympathy for her loss, and correct her in another post if it comes up again) is NOT the way to make yourself "popular".

Step back, continue to lurk and leave the education to those who have the sense to read.

All of the above.

Good luck!

Yes Ditto.  A lof of us use Fertility Friend to chart our temps.
