Version for Breech Baby

I posted basically the same thing a couple weeks ago but trying again. There's a post like this on the c-section board with almost all negative stories, but of course on the c-section board you only get the versions that didn't work.

Anyone do a version, did it work for you, was it painful, did you feel it was dangerous, would you do it again???

I know success rate is about 50% for my doc. I'm a better than average candidate due to high-normal fluid and this being a 3rd baby. But, I'm also really concerned that this baby is breech for a reason, as my other two were not, and this one moves a ton but hasn't turned on his/her own.

I think I posted in your last post.

I had a successful version - same positive indicators as you (save for 2nd baby, not third).

My doctor said that she had never had a problem or needed to perform an emergency c-section when doing a version.  I trusted her.  they watched the baby on ultrasound the whole time.  She only tries 3 times - she figures after that, the baby does just not want to move.

Best advice: relax  it makes it easier for them to turn the baby.  It definitely was not a comfortable experience, but it was not unbearable or anything like the horror stories I have read.

If the version at the doctor's office doesn't work, you might also try a chiropractor who is experienced with the Webster technique.  There's one in my midwife's town who has an 85-90% success rate - I'm going to have my stubbornly posterior baby turned in a few days.
