Consignment store?

I'm wearing one that I bought when I was pg with DD, so it might get more use if you plan to have more kids.

How crafty are you?

When my sister was pregnant she had the same issue...so being crafty as she is, she bought some fabric from a sewing store & a zipper to match her coat, so created an insert that zipped into her regular jacket to go over the bump...then once baby arrived if you plan on baby-wearing, the insert will still cover the baby in its sling :)

If you are up for that ?

That sounds AWESOME! :) Makes me wish I were crafty. But considering I live in Arizona I'll hardly need much of a coat unless I plan to be outside at night for long periods of time...which I don't.

I was only largely pregnant in summer but I have friends who would go to Walmart and buy a super cheap men's winter coat and then hand it off to their DH's to have as a back up coat for the following year.

My LL Bean winter coat is pretty loose but when it doesn't zip closed anymore I'm planning on wearing it anyways, just sucking it up and trying not to spend too much time outside when it's freezing cold. Also planning on sweet talking my husband into scraping the ice off my car every morning before he leaves so that I don't have to deal with that before work, I don't think that he'll mind :)

I'm planning on making or buying a fleece vest to wear under my coat as a tummy cover. My coat is pretty big around the waist, so I'm hoping it will fit during the coldest part of winter.

I have no choice about a winter coat. I will just buy one from a maternity store, they aren't really that expensive and if you want you can always sell it or donate it after you're done with it. (unless you plan on more kids)

I have one from my sister, she wore it last year when she was pregnant. It's kind of big but I'll wear it until I get my own.

If you live in a climate that gets a cold or snowy winter I would just buy one.

I bought a maternity zip up fleece for $20. I wear it under my regular coat, and just button the top two buttons of that. I did the same with my first pregnancy.

I live in Chicago, so it's really cold here and I was more than fine.

Im in the same boat as you. I'll probably buy a jacket to wear and since we want 2 kids, I know I'll wear it again and then I might just sell it off

I wore my nice north face coat while 9 months pregnant with my son I just wore it open. My plan is to
Buy a bigger fleece for and underneath layer and do the same this time.

I was planning on stealing my husband's coat since he wanted a new one this year anyhow, but when I mentioned my plan to my boss, she brought me in her old maternity coat.

It's a really nice wool swing coat-it's 20 years old so she doesn't want it back, but it only needs dry cleaning and a button sewn on.  She wore it with twins, so I figure I'll be alright.  You may want to ask around-cheap is good but free is better!

I'm cheap, and this is my last pregnancy, so I definitely don't want to spend money on a winter coat that I'm only going to wear one year. I'm going to try to make do with my current coat - maybe wear a thick poncho underneath and leave it unzipped. If that doesn't work, I'm going to hit Value Village in the hopes I can find something decent.
