Gulliver Crib from Ikea

Hi everyone! I'm considering the Gulliver crib from Ikea. I don't need a convertible crib because I want either a trundle twin bed or a bed with drawers underneath it for when we move to a real bed.  I'm just worried because this crib is so much cheaper that everything we saw at Babies R Us.  Anyone used it and liked or disliked it?

We've used it for over a year now and have no complaints. It's nice and simple and was easy to assemble and change mattress height. We used an ikea mattress, but any standard size mattress will fit. The gulliver is a very popular crib, and for good reason. It's a great price too.

We bought the Gulliver crib.  It was highly recommended by Baby Bargains, and was well within our budget.  It is made from solid wood and seems super sturdy.  It is pretty low to the ground, but it's a plus for us, since we aren't super tall.

Just because something is inexpensive, doesn't mean it is cheap.

It is highly rated on Baby Bargains and highly recommended on here by moms.

We have used the Gulliver crib with all three kids (new cribs each time, because we didn't want to waste space when moving). DS2 uses the Gulliver at grandparents house, and Sundvik at home. We use the Colgate Classica 1 mattresss.

I love it and personally wouldn't buy another crib other than the Gulliver/Sundvik. I don't see the point in spending $200+ on a crib, when the Gulliver half the price and just as safe. My sister did and regrets spending so much (chew marks, etc). Our Gullivers have held up great! I definitely recommend them!

And ignore any comment that says they are flimsy and wobbly. They are not. Of course the floor versions sometimes are, but there are hundreds of people in the store each day shaking them and messing with them.

We have two.  Highly recommend.  They've both held up really well to the abuses of two little boys.

We used it from 7 months until we switched to a twin at just under 20 months. No complaints at all. It withstood my toddler holding on the rails and jumping up and down so enthusiastically that he lifted it off the floor. Smile

It's a really bare-bones, simple crib with a small footprint and it will do the job just fine.  It is shorter than most cribs, so it might require more stooping for you if you are tall.

My babies are not here yet, but I love mine so far. I bought the Safety First Heavenly Dreams foam mattress for $47 off Amazon.com and couldn't be more pleased with the whole package purchase.

I could have easily bought something more expensive, but why when the Gulliver comes so highly rated.

I love ours.  Have been using it since birth for my almost 2 yo.  No complaints whatsoever!  I'll be buying another one for the baby on the way.
