anyone else potty training

DS has started taking off his diaper regularly, not wanting to go potty in it and also just running around naked. He can also undress himself like a champ. We decided to potty train him after a poop incident in his room. Any tips or advice? Anyone else doing this? Also he seems to have an aversion to the toilet as well...he will sit on it regularly, for about 5min get off and pee somewhere else....

DS started doing this stuff too...And like your he will sit on the potty for a few then get up and go potty somewhere else... (Once he pooped in my bay window :( URGH!!! ) I was told to take him to the potty a little while after he eats or drinks something and have him sit/stand there for a few. Then put a pull up/diaper on him right after. Last night he walked into the bathroom while I was going pee and he opened the lid to his potty and pulled down his pants/took off his diaper and sat on his potty right next to me :) It was cute and a little embarrassing at the same time....But were getting close! Which I am happy about cause Buying 2 sets of diapers next year is going to get mighty expensive :(

Good luck and keep me posted too what works and doesn't with you :)

I'd like to potty train, but it's not looking good.  DD will sit on her potty but only fully clothed.  If you take off her pants/diaper, she cries the whole time.  We've been having some issues with poop holding too and I thought that maybe sitting her on the big potty and putting on a video to distract her might help her get it out.  Well.....after sitting there for 30 minutes with nothing but tears coming out, I gave up. She's just not ready.  I would love to have her out of diapers before April, but it's not looking like that is going to happen.  Oh well.

Liam started to hold his pee until I changed his diapers, then asking to use the potty and peeing on me if I don't get him there fast enough. He will pee in his little potty, but not on a regular sized toilet when we are away from home. We aren't pushing anything yet, just putting him on the potty when he asks and rewarding him with an mm when he does go.

My LO in training. He started kicking me and saying "no diapers" during changes right before his birthday. We bought him cool character undies and did the '3 day method' which took a little longer than three days but it's been a month and even though he still has accidents often (about one or two a week) and isn't night trained, he asks to go to the potty every time. He started asking around early May, I just followed his lead mostly. Once he started taking his diaper off to go on the floor, I got more serious about it. I NEVER thought I'd have him trained so young.

Just wanted to add that at first I took LO to the bathroom every 30-60 minutes and asked if he needed to go often. I cleaned up tons of accidents in the early days. Once I started knowing when he would have to go, I'd take him then. Then he started telling me every time he had to go, not just sometimes. He'd still go in a diaper if he was wearing one, though so we kept diaper time limited. If he has an accident, he 'cleans' it. I have to clean that area afterwards but now he understands that even if he didn't mean to have an accident, he has to help clean it.

We are potty trained. We have accidents out sometimes especially if we go out to eat then go do some shopping. We take him to the bathroom much more when we are out than when we are at home since he seems to forget when we are out and about. At home I just make sure to put on pants that don't have a button with his underwear so he can go alone. My grandmother and I had made a cute diaper holder when I was pregnant I put it in the attic when I packed the halloween stuff up it was bittersweet. I do enjoy not buying diapers.

I think ill try the timer and observation method. Get a feel for his potty times as well as having him clean up his accidents. I dont think the bribe of candy will work with him i offer chocolate a couple times and that seems to.make him forget hes on the potty cause he just wants the chocolate...ill keep y'all updated on what seems to be working.
