Are you going out? Why or why not? Yes, because my mother is guilting me into going with her.

What are you going for or wish you were able to go for?  I will most likely not be buying anything, but I guess we are going to walmart for toys for all the kids.  What I WISH I could go for.. hmm.. do liquor stores have black friday sales? ;)

What time do you get there? Midnight, I think.  Isn't that standard?

Do you go with someone or by yourself? My mom, and maybe MH if I can bribe him.

What's your strategy for fighting off the crazies? I will be fighting no one.  My only job is to push the cart.

11/12: Dx: Congenital Bilateral Absense of the Vas Deferens.
Genetic Testing needed as this is a mutation of Cystic Fibrosis.
IVF #1 with ICSI planned for 2013.

A lot of Walmart's are 24 hours so people get there long before midnight. Some stores are opening even earlier this year like on thanksgiving night. It's crazy!

We have a tradition of picking out our Xmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.  I think we will do that this year and spend the weekend decorating for the holiday.

I will not be going out, mostly becuase I work and mostly becuase I like shopping online on Black Friday.

H and I do one Saturday at the Mall of America and call it good for the Holiday Shopping craziness.

Are you going out? Why or why not?  No way.  Waiting in long line until midnight or waking at 4 am to get a good deal are just not worth it to me.  Not to mention the way over crowded stores.  Saving a few hundred bucks is not worth the hassle at all.

 

I went once 2 years ago with my sister in law.  I only went bc she didn't want to go alone.  We got there 4 hours before the store opened and the line was already around the block.  Once we got in the store and got the one thing she wanted to get (she got a tablet and only saved 20 bucks) we waited in an hour long line to check out.

The only way I would every shop Black Friday sales would be if I was buying something huge and going to save thousands of dollars (Like all new appliances for a house or something).

Are you going out? Why or why not? Haven't decided yet, going to look into the deals and decide from there.

What are you going for or wish you were able to go for? Anything for DH for Christmas, or basically video game deals, if they're worth being out there for.

What time do you get there? It depends on the store. Last year I stood in line at Best Buy at 10:45 til they opened at midnight.

Do you go with someone or by yourself? I went with my cousin last year, which did make waiting in line more bearable. I usually prefer to go by myself though because by the time I get what I am there for, I'm super tired and ready to go home!

What's your strategy for fighting off the crazies? I don't get my hopes too high about things, like if they're out of something I'm not going crazy. Usually that's not much of an issue, I'm never really after the next "big thing" anyways. So far I haven't been pushed or trampled, but if it happened, I'd shove back. Best strategy of all? Avoid WalMart at all costs.

I love Cyber Monday!  I think most if not all of our gifts will be purchased online this year.  I a lot of stores do free shipping that day and I have free shipping on amazon prime.  It really is the way to go to avoid all the craziness that is Holiday shopping.

I am going with my two SIL and niece. We dont leave too too early and we do breakfast and lunch which honestly is why I wanna go haha. I like just being out and see the craziness. We hit a few places and avoid Walmart. I do wanna hit Toys r Us this year and a few places at the mall. I would like to get some boots for DD they are having a sale a JcPennys boots 10 bucks. It is more about being with my SIL and having a good time.

I do the same thing. Buuut I will say, last year I stayed up all night on Sunday waiting for 12am to hit to buy a video camera on Walmart's website and the damn site didn't work! I was so pissed because I had to work that morning and stayed up for no reason. I'm hoping things are better this year. Cyber Monday is so much easier.

My DH and I went out last year and got some decent deals.  I am not a morning person, so we got to the stores around 6am. Unfortunately the item we really wanted (fire pit from Target) was gone in the 3 Targets we went to. There is really nothing we want  this year. A year before that, we went to Target at 8pm on Black Friday and found a lot of good deals and had no crowds at all, lol. We may try that again.

But I agree, is it really worth it to stand in line to get into the store, race around trying to find the item(s), and then stand in a long line to check out? Stores are now opening at 8pm on Thanksgiving! I'm still with my family during that time. I guess if I had kids and the deals were really great for their toys, I may consider going.

Are you going out? Why or why not? Yes, I did some Christmas shopping last week and went back to preview the Black Friday ads and found that all of the items I bought will be on sale.

What are you going for or wish you were able to go for? I am hitting Target to get the Nintendo 3DS for sure. Then Walmart for Skylanders. After that, it will be whatever I find.

What time do you get there? I will be doing the later night Thanksgiving shopping and hoping to be in bed by bar close.

Do you go with someone or by yourself? I am going this year with my best friend 

What's your strategy for fighting off the crazies? Things don't get too crazy where I live. The stores around here stay pretty organized.

We always go for the $1.96 movies (though this year those start at 8pm which irritates me).   This year, I want the BH&G sheets at Walmart, and pajamas for DS.  We usually don't go for toys.

My sister and I always go.   Divide and conquer usually.

We just have fun with it all! Some people get all worked up, one year we saw a woman crying over a TV. My SILs and I couldn't stop laughing, we love the insanity of it all but realize its all fun and games!

I am NOT a fan of Black Friday. Thankfully we have to bounce around CT and RI for family time and won't have enough time to deal with all the crazies!

What are you going for or wish you were able to go for?  Honestly, nothing to big - well we haven't looked into too many ads, but we always find good deals!

What time do you get there?  my mom was talking about leaving at 2??  I could go for 3 or 4.

Do you go with someone or by yourself?  as I said, my mom.

What's your strategy for fighting off the crazies?  We just have fun with it!  We don't trample people trying to get something.  We know it's going to be crazy busy, plus we have fun watching all the crazies!

Not this year, since we will be in Canada. 

What are you going for or wish you were able to go for?

Every other year we spend American Thanksgiving with DH's family in Delaware. I love to go to the Rehoboth Beach outlet malls on Black Friday! They have really amazing sales on already discounted stuff and generally a great selection, too. It's the one time I don't have to feel guilty about spending hundreds of dollars on new clothes.

What time do you get there?

We don't go at a specific time, as there are lines no matter what. Last year there was a huge storm so the mall was actually closed and we had to go Saturday instead. There were way fewer people but there was also less merchandise since the delivery trucks hadn't been able to get in.

Do you go with someone or by yourself? 

I go with my husband, but we split up. If we want the other's opinion on something we text each other and occasionally meet up.

What's your strategy for fighting off the crazies?

No strategy. I just expect to wait for dressing rooms and cashiers.  We make sure to leave a lot of time so we don't feel rushed.

I normally do not go out unless there is some deal I would be crazy to miss. If I do go it is by myself so I can get in and out quick! I would rather shop online!

Are you going out? Why or why not? I'm going out.  I'm almost done Christmas shopping so I'll be shopping for myself and I am pumped!

What are you going for or wish you were able to go for? I desperately need some knee-high boots so they will be priority 1. 

What time do you get there?  It varies but I'm excited to shop this year so I think I'll head out around 5:30 am.

Do you go with someone or by yourself? I usually meet up with my cousin and SIL for a girls day. We gossip all day and I love it.

What's your strategy for fighting off the crazies? I'm not afraid to throw out a few elbows! Wink

Lol what were you going for that there was almost a fight? I've never gone for this very reason.

I will be out for black friday but only because I work retail.  I am lucky enough to get a 7pm-8am thanksgiving shift.  This is my 22nd year working in retail on black Friday and if I was off for some reason I would never go out shopping...... people are crazy

Are you going out? Why or why not? Maybe... DH and I have this ritual now... We drive to the HUGE outlet mall that's not too far from home at midnight.  We drive around the HUGE parking lot and are astonished at all of the cars that are parked on the grass (We're talking about a parking lot that goes around a mall that's over a mile long, and there's so many cars that they're parking in places that they're not allowed)

What are you going for or wish you were able to go for?  If we actually find a spot, we'll probably just do generic X-Mas / Hanukkah shopping.

What time do you get there?  Midnight

Do you go with someone or by yourself? DH, although his uncle and aunt will be in from Bonaire, so maybe we'll show them the craziness.  They don't have anything like this there.  In fact, they didn't really understand what Thanksgiving was, so this week will be fun!!  :)

What's your strategy for fighting off the crazies? We fight it off by going home.. hahaha, but we drive out there every year.  I know, we're crazy.
