The pap will not harm the baby. Your cervix is closed, they are just going to touch it with a q-tip. Don't worry, everybody does one!
As for the heartbeat, it is possible but not a guarantee. So don't panic if they don't find it today. It is much easier to find after 12 weeks or so.
