Alimentum Formula

Our LO has been diagnosed with reflux and is currently taking Axid twice daily to help with the symptoms.  We are formula feeding and he has not been able to tolerate regular milk based formula from the beginning.  After trying soy formula for 6 weeks, the doctor has switched him to Alimentum to see if it will help ease the reflux symptoms and the constipation.

His face has now broken out with either acne or eczema since switching to Alimentum and he cries miserably when we burp him.  Anyone else have issues with Alimentum?  If so, what formula did you try next?

After we tried Alimentum with no success we wound up on "prescription" formula.  Elecare.  Our LO has bad reflux and MSPI and this is the only thing that provided him (and us) with any relief.  It's incredibly expensive and I hope you find something else that works without having to go to Elecare (or Neocate)!

I tried Alimentum on ds2 because he brakes out into a rash when he has regular milk based formula. We tried it after putting him on soy. But it honestly did nothing for him. So now he is back on soy formula. The only issue we have with the soy is it does make him constipated so I have to give him a a little juice every day to help him poop.

::lurking:::

DD got hives and threw up even more than "normal" on Alimentum. We lucked out with her not having a soy allergy. But if soy hadn't worked, Elecare would have been our next step.

ETA: DD had a milk protein allergy and severe reflux.

We use Enfamil Nutramigen. DS has silent reflux and saw a GI specialist this past Friday.  DD had reflux and Enfamil Gentalese worked well with her.
