Let's talk side effects!

So I started my (generic) Lupron (leuprolide acetate) on Saturday.  Injection was a piece of cake.  I have had two doses so far.  I am experiencing a metallic taste in my mouth.  Anyone else?

 

Also, when did you begin noticing the headache or hot flashes associated with this medication?  Any other side effects I should look forward to?  Thanks girls! 
Me: 28; DH: 35 1/2008 -- Started TTC
3/2009 -- FD discovered at 17 weeks
1/2011 -- Lap and HSG reveal Stage IV Endo and both tubes blocked.
4/2012 -- Consult with RE for IVF#1 -- All bloodwork and SA are normal -- Repeat HSG - SURPRISE! Both tubes are open.
May, June, August 2012 -- IUI#1-3 -- Letrozole + Bravelle + Ovidrel trigger = BFN
9/2012 -- Lap#2 to remove endo and Hysteroscopy

IVF#1 (Long Lupron) -- 12/6 ER - 20R 11F * 12/11 ET - Transferred 2 excellent blasts *
Beta #1 79.7 * Beta #2 240 * It's a GIRL!!

I didn't have any side effects from the Lupron.

The only side effect I noticed from the Lupron was a headache and it started the second day and didn't go away for 16 days. I hope the metallic taste is the worst you experience!

I was on MDL...microdose Lupron...so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it but I only hot flashed while taking the injection. Same thing with Menopur, when I would give myself the injections I'd have to take my sweater off and put the fan on , LOL

For me, most side effects didn't hit until the progesterone, now thats a doozy, LOL

February 2013--Found a new RE but first back to the Endocrinologist for more diagnostic testing
Absolutely no idea when we can cycle again...looking into DE as well if IVF#4 fails again
PAIF/SAIF encouraged...give me some hope!!

I've had the metallic taste in my mouth and horrible headaches since starting Lupron on Nov 2nd.  The last few days I've noticed that my hair is starting to thin out (more in the brush and when I shower) which is a fairly rare side effect.

It made me itchy, but my RE and nurse said that they have never seen that before. I was also "Lupron crazy" - very emotional and short. Itching started right away - Lupron crazy didn't start until 5-6 days in.

Hoping that you don't experience either of these :)

I got a dull, continuous headache after 3 days of Lupron - still have the headache a week later. I also have become a bit angry/ragey as well. I hope you have minimal side effects - I'm NOT a fan of the Lupron!

I too have a constant headache.  Mostly dull but at times, can get to pounding.  Tylenol doesn't do jack.  I am hoping it goes away when I start the stims.  Anyone know if that is the case?

Married June 2011
Dx: anovulatory due to prolactinoma (1.5cmx 1.5cm in 2006)
April 2012: MRI- questionable cyst 8mg by 12mm in pituitary
referred to RE by Ob-gyn after amenorrhea x 4+ months, provera ineffective, low estrogen level
cycle 1: May 2012, clomid 50mg; cycle cancelled, thin lining, no response
cycle 2: June 2012, femara 5mg; cycle cancelled, no response
cycle 3: July 2012, femara 7.5mg; cycle cancelled (largest folli on Cd12 & cd 16: 11, lining 4)

Aug. 8: met with RE, move to injectables if HSG and SA normal
Aug. 23: HSG all clear; DH- perfect
Switched to a new RE in early Sept. IVF here we come
Genetic testing reveals: Fragile X- Intermediate risk/grey zone.
IVF#1: ER 11/30: 14 retrieved, 10 mature, 7 fertilized. E2 prior to trigger 5200. Decision made to freeze 6 embryos and transfer later due to OHSS.
IVF#1.2/FET #1: estrogen injects start 1/18, FET delayed to try to thicken lining. lining 5.4mm. FET- 2/18- transferred one 3AA expanded blast. BFP 5dp5dt. Beta #1- 2/27 9dp5dt- 102.27 beta #2 3/1: 147 :(, beta #3 3/4: 268 stop meds. #4: 269, #5 133, #6 72, still in beta hell. Beta 7 (3/25) 29.

Looking back, my Lupron headache began on the 2nd day but I didn't realize it was from the Lupron until overnight on the 3rd day when I had a horrific throbbing headache.  I took enough Tylenol to dull it and it went away after about a week when my estrogen started to rise.

That's the only side effect I experienced from the Lupron, fortunately.

I had the metallic taste too, but that was the only side effect i has on the Lupron.  It's normal and it will go away once your dose goes down.  At least thats when mine went away.

I was super moody, but no physical side effects.  Well, sore spots on my belly from the injections and a few bruises.

I've had two dosages so far as well and have the same metallic, dry mouth.  I'm also really tired from it.

I had hot flashes from day 1 on lupron.. Never failed about 45 minutes after the shot I had a crazy hot flash where I stripped everything I had on... 5 minutes later I was fine and didn't happen again until after the next shot. Random.

The headaches and hot flashes lasted until they decreased my dose of Lupron. Out of all the meds Lupron was the one I had the most side effects. I'm hoping they aren't too bad for you.
Me 37 MH 40 - TTC since June 2010 - dx with Severe MFI. Straight to IVF with ICSI. IVF #1 - ER 06/13/12 - 9 Eggs Retrieved - 4 ICSI'd - only 2 fert. 06/15/12 - 2DT - 3 cell & 6 cell with fragmentation. Beta 06/29/12 - IVF #1 = BFN. 07/20/12 - WTF Appt -Told by our RE to quit IVF. Second Opinion from RE is good. IVF#2 - November 2012. Estradiol Pills Started 11/6. Stims start 11/16. ER 11/26 - 7 eggs retrieved - all mature. 4 fertilized with ICSI. ET 11/29 Transferred 3 embryos. Beta is 12/10. 1st Beta 81 2nd Beta 160 and 3rd beta 360!!! First U/S 12/21/12 - We saw one beautiful gest. sac. 2nd U/S is 01/04/2013 - H/B 183 02/05/13 - NT Scan - everything looks good and IT'S A BOY!!! EDD 08/19/12
