full of mixed feelings

Hi ladies

I am 5 weeks and it is my first pregnancy. I have been full of worry this past week thinking of all the normal risks associated with early  pregnancy. I cant get all the risks out of my head and I am excited but worried. I may be over thinking everything but, am I the only one who has all this running through their head? I still cant believe its all true and I don't know what I would do if something bad happened. I just want to hear my babies heart beat then I think I will feel more secure. Does any one have any recommendations on getting the worry out of my head? did any one else experience this?

I think most moms-to-be feel this way. And just to let you know, prepare to worry about this baby for the rest of your life. It never goes away. I know this for a fact because I have a 21 year old and I still worry about her.

I feel like a mess and I am at 5 weeks also! I am hoping that talking to others on here will help :) My friends don't quite get it since none of my best friends have kids yet....and do not want to confide in many others because things are so uncertain right now. I hope that venting on here will help you also :)

I am 7 weeks and I feel the same exact way... It's natural. This is my first pregnancy after a loss and it adds to the worries and fears. But you must try to stay calm and just enjoy every minute of pregnancy (easier said then done ehh) but if we spend our entire first trimester etc worrying ourselves sick then I feel we will regret not just enjoying the pregnancy once that beautiful baby is here! As long as you dont start to bleed then continue to thank God for that little miracle growing inside of you :)

I feel the same way.  The DH has been keeping me concentrated on just continuing to be my normal healthy self.  It really comforts me to read these boards to know I am not along.  :-)  And neither are you.

Just take care of yourself and don't think about it. I know it's easier said than done, but it's really that simple. If something bad happens, there's usually nothing you can do about it, anyways, so agonizing is just going to take away your quality of life.

Go to a doctor's to get yourself checked out if you should start bleeding or spotting, because the worst possible problem can be ectopic pregnancy and they can refer you for some tests to rule that out, but that is very rare and not something you need to think or worry about.

If you should bleed heavy and cramp, then go to a hospital. Sometimes, even that isn't a miscarriage, but they are more serious symptoms.

Chances are, though, everything will turn out fine. Think about something other than your pregnancy for a while and *don't* google miscarriage. It's not worth it.

I'm not quite 5 weeks yet and yes! I am exactly the same. It is all I can think about but its so early there isn't much to do but wait.  Atleast we can all wait together. :)

I feel the same way.. I am 8 weeks tomorrow and after a loss I am super nervous and probably will be that way until 12 weeks!  I try not to think about it (easier said than done with m/s!) and hope that everything will be alright.  I have felt a little better since seeing the heartbeat 2 weeks ago.  Good luck!
