Had my first RE appt today, Finally!

It went great.  we went over all of the tests that I have had to date and developed a plan based on a few different options we were given.  I started Provera today (since I am on CD 64) and will start clomid with blood tests, ultrasounds and a trigger this cycle.  Can't wait to finally be DOING something proactive.  yay!  (also can't wait to have a REAL period since I haven't had anything but spotting since I went off of BCPs in July 2011 and I am feeling rather unwomanly).

The weird thing was that my RE showed us all the things that were abnormal on our test results and when I had talked to my ob/gyn she said everything looked fine.  I know they were looking at the same reports so wth! One thing that my RE was concerned about is the shape of my uterus on my HSG.  He is going to take a look at the pictures (apparently my ob/gyn didn't send them to the RE when I asked her to) and possibly send me for an MRI to get a better look.  My ob/gyn never even mentioned it to me.  I think WHEN this works I will be looking for a new ob/gyn since apparently mine doesn't even know what a uterus is supposed to look like.

Many OBs aren't knowledgeable enough to provide IF diagnoses, but I think your move to a new is still probably a good idea.  An HSG is not meant to diagnose uterine abnormalities, a sonohysterogram does that, so if you haven't had that, I'd question an RE that jumps to an MRI.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

L&R70707:
An HSG is not meant to diagnose uterine abnormalities, a sonohysterogram does that, so if you haven't had that, I'd question an RE that jumps to an MRI.

You know, now that you mention that I think he did say something about doing an ultrasound or something before the MRI once he gets a look at the HSG pics (he said the MRI is only if we have to since they are so expensive) We were there for an hour and a half and I'm sure now that I only remember half of what he said.  I wish I could have a recording of the whole appt or something so I could listen to it again and see what I've already forgotten. It was so much information to take in all at once.

I've got to say I'm quite jealous of your appointment vs mine. I also wanted to be able to record the meeting which is why I brought our iPad, to do exactly that. Our told us something different than our GP, but I guess that's what happens when you specialize in something.

 Good luck!
