XP: Thermometer ??

I received multiple thermometers from my shower and I am wondering if I should keep them all, or return one. One is a pacifier thermometer, one is a 3 in 1 tip thermometer with tips for underarm, rectal, and oral, and then I received a healthcare kit that contains a thermometer (though I dont think that one is very good). Should I return one? If so, which one?

I only use rectal with dd . It seems to be the most accurate .

I was told rectal is the most accurate and reliable with toddlers and newborns.

I would just keep them all.  They aren't that expensive so you wouldn't be getting a ton of money back (or store credit).  The one we had got wet and stopped working so I had to go out and buy one but it would have been great to have a backup. I ended up buying the 3 in 1 thermometers.

Agreed with pp's - rectal is most accurate. My first thought was - I do NOT want to take a temperature in my baby's bum, but it's really not a big deal after you do it once.

The paci one cant be very accurate.  Even now as adults when we take an oral temp, we put it under our tongue, not over.  Rectal is the most accurate and the only one that we will be using.  Someone gave me a paci thermometer, and I just stuck it in a drawer.

Our pediatrician recommended rectal as being the most accurate for infants.
