Talk to me about Convertible Car Seats

My little guy is quickly sizing out of his infant seat he's 22lbs now and for black friday I figured I would go get him a convertible one since he'll need it sooner than later. Please suggest yours and why if it helps my guy is a fast grower already 27inches long and 22 lbs and 5 months old. I want something that will last and dont mind the price

Diono Radian, Clek Foonf (when he's able to sit), Graco MyRide (maybe size4me, but it has harness issues). I feel like I'm missing one or two high height limit seats. I picked these because if your ds is tall, these wiL give you a fighting chance of rf to 2.

Clek Foonf (it's not out yet though), Diono Radian, and Graco MyRide/Size4Me are all good seats for tall kids.  Generally speaking Britax seats aren't great for tall kids because the shell is short so it is more quickly outgrown than other seats.  For a tall baby, I would skip that brand all together.  I am sure Penguin can jump in here and help out with some other possibilities because her kids are really tall too!

I like this lady's reviews and below is her recommended list.

For the record, I have the Peg convertible but my daughter is on the smaller side and her torso is short.   I think in your case for a tall child and long lasting seat, I would try the Radian or one of the Graco's.  If you can wait a few months, you could try to get a Foonf or the new Chicco Nextfit which come out next year.

My DD is very tall and we use the graco myride.  We love it.  It is super comfy im assuming because she falls asleep every time we put her in it.  We only used it FF'ing though.

My DD is tall (around 36") and can still rf in her radian and briax blvd.  I actually switched the blvd forward this week bc it was getting difficult to get her in and out and she's so close to 2, but she never minded having her legs cramped.  Radian still has plenty of room rf, and is easier to get her in and out of since the sides are low.

I do think for a younger baby the britax seats offer a little more neck support.  My only complaint with the radian is that DD always falls asleep with her neck in a terrible position.  I've tried adjusting the seat but  nothing seems to fix it.  It's almost like its too wide at the top. The straps are also a pain to tighten on the radian.    She always seems more comfy in her blvd.
