when did you announce on Facebook?

I've only told immediate family and close friends I'm pregnant..i would SO love to announce it on Facebook too :) but since i"m only 5 weeks I'm not sure if that would be a good idea?? idk. when are you or did you announce on Facebook??

We aren't telling our families until after my first appointment around 8 weeks.  I want my family to know first before I put it on Facebook so once they know I'll put it out there.

We planned to announce at 16 weeks with our first ... Unfortunately, we found out we lost her at 12 weeks.

With this pregnancy, we've told our mothers, and two other friends, but we won't tell the rest of our families until after the new year. We won't put anything out on Facebook until after our anatomy scan.
Holy heck, we're pregnant again! Please stay here with us little Otter.

We have a heartbeat! 138 beats per minute and measuring right on track. Ultrasound 11/7/12 showed heartbeat in the 160s. Negative MaterniT21 results ... Found out at Anatomy Scan we're Team Blue!

Not until after our A/S at almost 21 weeks.  I don't think a FB announcement at 5 weeks is a good idea.

I'm currently a little over 10 weeks. Immediate family knows, but no one else. We will post it on Facebook on Thanksgiving. We heard a strong heart beat yesterday, and I feel comfortable letting people know. It's really up to you and when you are comfortable telling people. Congrats!

We've told immediate family and close friends.  I've also told a few co-workers but if we do post on f/b it won't be until after we are more in the clear...prob around 12 weeks or so.  We lost our baby at 9 weeks last time, luckily we hadn't told the whole world yet, just family and friends.  GL to you!

I wouldn't announce on facebook at 5 weeks. I'm 12 weeks right now and have only told immediate family; we let them know after our 8 week u/s. We have our NT scan tomorrow morning and if that goes well we will tell our extended families at our Thanksgiving celebrations (lucky for us we have great timing for Thanksgiving!) We will probably announce on FB at 20 weeks after our anatomy scan.

I am doing it tonight! Although, that was not the original plan. Turns out, family we told could not be trusted and I want to be the one to announce so we are doing it now to prevent further slips. Next pregnancy, I will definitely keep it under wraps longer!

Never. Most of my family and friends don't know yet; they'll be told between 10 and 13 weeks, depending on how close they are. I won't make a fb announcement. Everyone that needs to know will know via us telling them either in person or on the phone.

I told my mom and SIL right away. We told a few other family members around 6 weeks because I was going to a bachellorette party and they would have definitely noticed if I wasn't drinking. I ended up telling the rest of my family, work and friends around 9 weeks (after our first u/s and heart beat) because the wedding was the next weekend. I probably could have pretended to drink and and hide it longer... but I was too excited. Even waiting those 5 weeks was hard enough. I'm am, however, very lucky/blessed to have never had to deal with miscarriage and don't have any other risk factors.... doesn't mean too much... but it was the choice I made nonetheless.

My husband & I announced the day we found out we were expecting- 4 weeks!  I don't have strange people on my Facebook (all family & friends), so I figured it would be appropriate. My husband and I, even before we were expecting, discussed the fact that we would tell the world right away, since it's God's will as to what he wants for us in our pregnancy. But of course, everyone has different life & pregnancy experiences. I would say, if you're itching to post, go for it!!!

We have always used the 2nd Trimester "rule"...so much can happen unfortunately early on, as we learned with my last 2 pgs thank goodness not too many knew. We did just announced on fb this past weekend at 13w 2d(we only have friends & family, no strangers) I would wait a lil bit if I were you, at least until you're seen plus its kind of nice having a secret. GL!

My family all know but not telling facebook till christmas. Ill be over 15 weeks, We have a super cute idea that would be perfect for christmas. 5 weeks might be a little early but its all up to you and how comfortable you are.

We're telling everyone on Christmas. Some friends and family know now (cuz we can't keep a secret) but on Christmas, we're going to tell our parents and post it on Facebook. My first appointment is the 6th and by Christmas I'll be just about 11 weeks.

Probably not until 15 weeks, after we find out the sex. That way I can announce the sex to family & close friend who already know we're KU, while filling in coworkers & many other friends of mine who would be excited (& shocked) to hear the news for the 1st time.

we will probably do it around 12 weeks. I'm 5 weeks now and our families and close friends know. Due to having 2 MC's before, we will wait a little longer to tell the world. I say do it whenever you are ready. I have a close friend who has 3 babies who told right away (4 weeks). Given our history is why we want to wait a while.

Told immediate family at 7 weeks told extend at 1112 weeks telling work at 13 and I'll probably say something on FB after that. We have our NT tomorrow so figured after that and in 2nd tri would be good

Married my BEST FRIEND on December 1, 2007. Started TTC in March 2008. Found out we were expecting our first child in October 2008 - but had a m/c in December 2008 - resulting in a d&e. We won't announce on fb and we didn't with my son.  The people who I want to know found out from us in person.  We did post pictures once my son was born and it was entertaining to read all of the "I didn't even know you were pregnant" comments (of course these were mostly from people who I haven't seen in a few years or since high school). For me it's not necessary to let people know on fb.

I had taken a FB break a few weeks after finding out I was PG.... I came back on FB, changed my profile pic to the anatomy u/s (I was around 19 weeks) and said "I'm back! Btw it's a boy" ... got lots of the "I didn't even know you were PG" I was like... umm why would you?

I'm waiting until after Christmas when I'll be close to 16 weeks, so that when we announce it to our families at Christmas, our Mom's will have some time to spread the good news on their own and they won't hear - "Yeah we know. Heard about it on fb." lol

   I have told a couple of people and they keep dropping annoying hints on fb, so many that I deleted their comments and told them to shush! No one is stealing my thunder if I can help it. ;p
