The only Hunter I know also happens to be a dog.
To me, it would be as weird as naming my kid Rex, Fido, or Rover. But I know there are people who think of it primarily as a human name and think of it in the same vein as names like Dylan, Austin, Forrest, Gunner, Gunther, Wyatt, etc.
Also, think about what a Hunter actually is. Would you be okay with that connotation?
