Dilation?

Im 38 weeks and 3 days and my doctor told me that i am 3 centimeters and almost completely thinned out! I have been getting some contractions but the doctor said that i will most likely have the baby within this week, what do you guys think?

My doctor told me the same thing. I'm 5 cm dilated though.

Honestly, it means nothing. I know plenty of women who walked around a whole month at 3-5 cm. You go into labor when you go into labor.

This.  Your doctor has no way of knowing when you're going into labor.  I really wish they wouldn't say things like that.

My doctor told me two weeks in a row that I would be going into labor within a week, and I'm getting induced tomorrow because I am still pregnant.  The first week I was 1cm 50% and the second week I was 3cm 75%... I hope your doctor is right!  But don't get your hopes up lol

I was 2-3 cm and 80% effaced for 4 weeks.  I'm not sure you can determine anything by that.  But doctors see it a lot so I would at least consider their guess to be valid!  Good luck!
