So, my last visit from AF was 10/11. DH and I were trying earlier in the year and last year but we were unsuccessful and getting frustrated. We actually stopped trying completely and were considering either a surrogate or adoption. Anyway, last month was my birthday and we had some b'day fun ;) Not even thinking about the possibility of getting pregnant. Fast forward to 11/10. AF was due, but didn't show...which is odd for me. She shows up to torment my life regularly. So regularly you can practically tell time from her. So, when she didn't show up 6 days later, I bought a test at Wal Mart on my way to work and decided to test the next day.
The next morning, I woke up at about 630am and at 7, while DH was in the shower, I snuck in and took the test. I snuck because he didn't want me to take a test. Didn't want to be disappointed, I guess. Anyway, initially, I saw only the horizontal (negative) line and started to get disappointed. But then, the VERTICAL line appeared! I immediately began to shake. LOL! I jumped off the toilet so quickly and just busted the shower curtain open on my husband with tears in my eyes. He gave me the craziest look and all I could do (after he asked me what was wrong 4 times) was lift the test up to his eyes. Needless to say, I ended up in the shower with him and we were both in tears, sobbing away.
So here we are, expecting our first baby, who I am convinced is a boy and has already been given the nickname Peanut. I have the worst heartburn, slight cramping, weird dreams and I'm getting no sleep.
But you know what? It's SOOOOOoooOOooOooOoooooooooOOO worth it! :D
Congrats!!! So happy for you and your H. Me and my DH tried for 3 years and finally on my birthday (Sept) we got pregnant! Super exciting!!!
