Speaking of baby kicking during sex.... ?

I have been thinking about this for a few weeks. It will be a huge turn off for both of us, and baby seems to kick off and on all day. (Very tiny kicks right now.)

How do you avoid this situation while having sex? Different positions where he can't feel it from the outside or what? I don't think there is any way for me to not feel it.... I really don't want our sex life to come to an end soon. :(

There is too much movement during sex for me to feel anything. Usually I only notice her when I am in a position where I am still. Of course, she is getting bigger and I have no idea what it will be like during the later part of third tri, but he has a hard time feeling her when I am holding my breath and still so I'm doubting it will ever be an issue with him.

Welcome to pregnancy. It has happened numerous times to us and it's actually kinda funny. It is just one of those things that happens.

Im surprised you can notice kicking considering that you are 17 weeks and hall the other movement.  Im not doubting you because everyone is different but most people can barely notice movements at 17 weeks when nothing is going on.

Just wait til you are further along and have to use the bathroom every 2 mins.  The other night my poor husband got so scare he was hurting me but it was that I had to go pee.  Horrible timing, mood killer and yet hysterical

When I'm moving a lot, baby gets put to sleep, so we don't have an issue during sex.

I can't feel baby during sex. I only feel baby when I am laying in bed or sitting down. :)

This thought crossed my mind, but then the thought of us having sex puts baby to sleep grossed me out. haha I could see how walking around and stuff would put baby to sleep, though, so it kinda makes sense.

I'm on my 6th baby and I don't recall ever feeling baby move while Dh and I are DTD, nor does he. Perhaps it's because we're moving so much, perhaps it's because we're not thinking about baby so we don't notice if she is moving.

Awww.... You just reminded me of when I was preggo with DD (our 1st). We were ***TMI*** getting down! Then it literally felt like she pushed/kicked DH from the inside! As if to say, "Get outta my space!" I cracked up laughing. DH was weirded out. And that was the end of that!

Until the next time. We just tried a different position.

Hope you're able to figure it out.

I think if this happened to H it would be the last time I get laid during this pregnancy. haha

Thanks for your responses, ladies! I am hoping we just don't notice it. :)

baby tends to be very still while we are DTD i don't feel him and neither does DH. I don't ever recall feeling DD either. Now afterwards is a totally different story - this little boy seems to start a dance party

We never felt DS during sex. He was either really still or we were just too occupied. It was one of my fears though, because I knew it would freak both of us out.

For us, we usually don't feel baby moving until afterwards.  But it makes us both laugh.  for us it is not awkward.  Matter of fact, one of the things we have been talking about, initiated by DH, is when the dr says no more sex, how to handle.  That is his biggest concern.  For some reason, it does not bother DH like I thought it might.  I am just thankful that he still finds me attractive enough to want to have a little play time.

As for your position question, experiment.  I can tell you what works for us - me in spoon position on my side and DH on his knees from behind.  I can still feel LO  but DH cannot.  Good luck and have fun learning what works for the two of you.

I've never felt the baby move during sex.  Now, if she's moving up a storm I am not going to be down with starting.  But if she's quiet, its fine for us to get some action going and I've never noticed any movement during.  Sometimes after, but that doesnt bother me.

This. I went before, and usually I'm fine. But when I let out a "WHOA! Oh noooo!", he freaked out and jumped off the bed, only to see me running to the bathroom, and laughing hysterically.

Needless to say, he wasn't laughing.

I've been feeling LO since week 17, but quite honestly, when you get in the mood, you tend to forget you're even pregnant. Until that belly gets in the way, that is!

I really don't see what the big deal is if you can feel the baby kick when you are with your husband or SO. Baby doesn't know what is going on.
