price question

FTM here. I was just wondering what you all think is a reasonable price to spend on a stroller? I really have NO clue. I definitley want to get a good one without spending a ridiculousness amount of money but dont want to go too cheap. I dont mind dropping a few extra dollars either bc i plan on more children and think its an important peice to have. What do you ladies think is a good price range?

It's a personal decision. Reasonable to me is what you can afford and taking into account its use. For us, we had no problem spending a decent amount on a stroller (er, strollers) because we live in the city and use a stroller like a million times more than we use a car seat (not that I didn't think car seats were important, but you know what I mean).

We spent $350 on a BOB revolution stroller and I thought that price was right in the middle of the spectrum. I'm the kind of girl that never buys the cheapest or the most expensive of anything.

Your use is going to help determine that.  A jogging stroller is going to cost you more than a umbrella stroller.

Personally, I wish I had bought the City Select with DD1 and then just got the extra seat for this baby, but I'm not ready to drop $700 on a stroller right now.  Plus, we live in the country/suburbs-ish so we don't use it as often as someone in the city.

I have a Maclaren Quest that is a nice umbrella stroller.  It folds up tiny, so it's great to keep in my car all the time and I don't have to worry about removing it to fit groceries or anything.  It has an almost full recline, so you can use it when the LO is fairly young.

I think it all depends on what you plan on using it for. With my first, I got a Graco Travel system for I think 150. It was for the stroller and carseat. A big selling point was the fact that the carseat attached to the stroller so I didn't have to wake the baby unnecessarily. But I'm sure there are other strollers out there that can do this.

I'm still annoyed I didn't have the CIty Select for baby 1, I got it for baby 2 and I love it to death. I luckily only got it for $400 on sale as a double. I would have spent more for it originally though if I had known i would be as awesome as it is. =)

It really depends on your budget and your needs.  If you plan to use it a lot, I would say it is worth it to splurge a little and get something with a nice push.  I own a Bob Revolution, Maclaren Quest, and a Baby Jogger City Mini.  I also have a Mountain Buggy Swift on the way.  I think all four are worth what I paid for them (I got them all on sale).  I had a Chicco Cortina for DD's first year, and while it was okay, I wish I would have just bought a nicer stroller to start out with rather than spending the money on the Chicco and then having to deal with selling it.

Get a fairly cheap one, then when you have another child buy a nice double stroller. I recommend the city mini double stroller. GL!

Maybe consider getting a used one?  We got ours off of Craigslist before our daughter was born and we got it for half price and it was hardly ever used.  I know there are people who get the travel systems but then decide they want a fancier stroller of some sort and then just sell off the one that came with their travel system.  I think we paid $50 for ours and they literally had used it twice.  There are also nice ones at consignment shops and second hand childrens stores that you could get a great deal on something that's hardly been used.
