Abel

I have loved the name Abel for as long as I can remember.

 Now that Sons of Anarchy is out I'm sure there is gonna be a spike in the name popularity. I don't know anyone with the name but know it has been in the top 400 names for centuries. Which is more popular than I would want to go with but I love the name enough I'm welling to over look it. 

How many Abel's do you all know?

I know one Abel and he is in his late 30s. It was ranked 237 last year, so it has been going up a little bit.

Love Abel!

I have never watched Sons of Anarchy and never plan too, so the show doesn't come to mind.

I have never met an Abel. I'm a teacher and see a ton of kids and their parents, so that is saying something.

If this baby was a boy, it would have been his name. As it is a girl, we are going with another name....coincidentally also from SOA. I hate the show, it's so violent, but my H watches it. I was actually upset that both our boy and girl names ate prominent in the show.

I've never met an Abel. I like it. I don't think SOA is popular enough for that name to really be attached, or for people to automatically think SOA when they hear the name.

I don't know anyone IRL with the name Abel. I really like the name and don't think SOA is a popular enough show that people will automatically associate his name to it.

In real life? None. 

All I hear is 'the first murder victim'/ 'first person to die' and I am not even religious. Its all that comes to mind when I hear Cain or Abel.

I used a biblical name for my second son and people mention his biblical story a lot when they hear his name. So for that reason, I would probably avoid it. :)

I do not know any Abels.  There are a lot of people who do not watch SOA.  When the show ends it will not be one that lends itself to numerous pop culture references so the name will not forever be associated with the show.  Besides I thought of Cain and Abel before SOA.

I'm not as worried about it being attached to the show as I don't want it to get too popular because of the show.
