Day/Night Sleeping

I have an 11 day old who is still having a tough time going down for sleep at night.  During the day, I have been laying him on his back in his bassinet as he was initially used to sleeping in our arms.  I do not let him sleep more than a few hours at a time per our doctor's recommendations. I feed, burp and then change him. I try to keep him awake a little while longer with some play but its almost impossible! I dont keep the house quiet and let the sunlight come through the blinds.  At night, we put him down in the bassinet and he doesn't stay down for more than 20-30 minutes at a time. What did you incorporate into your routine that made nighttime sleeping more successful?

We swaddle at night, use a fan for white noise, & keep it dark & quiet. We get our LO up during the day & try for play time. But I think it takes a while for them to get night & day straight. GL!

It takes awhile to switch them but you're well on your way. I agree with pp tight swaddle with arms in, white noise and lights off. Your LO will eventually start to know that means nighttime!

I bath my little guy every night with vanilla oatmeal baby body wash, then rub him down with baby oil. After drying him off, I sing to him while rubbing him down(head-toe)with baby lotion. Then jammies(swaddle[not anymore, he's 4 months old now])feed, then he's out!(he sleeps 12.5 hours everynight)
Hope this helps
