Did anyone take Progesterone before they got pregnant?

Hi! Did anyone take progesterone before they got pregnant? If so, once you found out you were expecting did your OB take you off of it?

Thanks!

If you need progesterone supplements, you will probably need them until the placenta is big enough to take over progesterone production.  Most people stay on it until at least 8 weeks.

I wonder why my dr took me off of it if i was on it before for a reason. I hate to keep calling back asking questions.

I took it from 2 dpo until 11 weeks.  Did they do a blood test?  Maybe they think the  number is too high?  My doc was never concerned about how high the number was though.  She wanted to see over 10 and on the supplements, I was usually in the 40's.

TTC since 2/2009
11/2010 - Surprise BFP - m/c @ 16 weeks - dx Lupus Anticoagulant

I've been on progesterone shots since the day after ER (which is the equivalent to ovulation). It makes no sense to take a pregnant woman off progesterone once they get pregnant until around ten weeks once the placenta takes over the production of it. If there's an issue with progesterone levels before a BFP then I think there's going to be an even bigger issue after a BFP. I'd ask to get back on them if you think you really need them and if your current OB won't find one who will!

This. I was on the Crinone gel until 10 weeks when the placenta was functioning fully.
