Cats

I have two cats, one is sweet but a diva (runs if you look at her wrong and will bite if you pet her the way she doesnt like)...lately she has been very clingly to me. constantly wanting me to pet her and cuddle with her....I was googling an issue im having with my other cat and came across an article that says cats are very sensitive to the hormone change in pregnant women. Kinda cool that she probably knew I was pregnant before I did! lol either that or shes possessed. haha

 

anyone else have a cat or dog that has acted differently since you got pregnant?

Yep.  My dog and cats acted weird when I was pregnant with DS, and they are all acting super affectionate and snuggly again this time.  Weird, but cute.  

When DS was born they were all really interested in him, and would gather round and just want to be in the same room as him.  It was like they had already bonded :-)

My moms dog isnt as excited when im around. He seems mopey. He definitely knows something is up.

Yes - my cat punishes me for bringing another baby into our house by sleeping on my stomach/bladder every night, making me have to get up to go to the bathroom even more frequently than I would just from pregnancy.

My most antisocial of our three cats has turned to being super affectionate to me. Nuzzling me and always by my side.

The other two cats are always all over me, so no big difference there. Lol

I also have 2 cats going through the same thing! They're constantly following me from room to room, constantly smelling me lurking. What's even crazier is they have been trying to sit or lay across my belly since I've found out I'm expecting. Sooooo weird but cute at the same time lol.

This is so weird. My cat has been very affectionate all week and I never would have guessed he knew I was pregnant. He keeps trying to push my laptop away and sit in my lap. Ok he did that before but it was more frequent yesterday.

We have two cats, a little princess type that can have quite an attitude when she wants, and an older male that is timid and snuggly. The younger cat hasn't changed at all since our BFP, but the older cat has started ripping out patches of fur on his flanks! Something he has never done, it's like he's suddenly anxious and overgrooming himself. Weird...will have to take him to the vet's if he doesn't stop being a drama queen lol.

My cat has been too. Every morning he sits with me and cuddles. This morning my husband was next to me and he got agitated, so he crawled across my husband to get to me. H didn't want him stepping on my belly, but when he tried to stop him my cat pulled his hardest and H finally gave up. Sometimes I wonder if my cat thinks he's my baby's only protector.
