Baby Gap quality is very good, they are my favourite because of that. When they have their sales, prices are actually quite reasonable (especially given the quality). In terms of sizing, I would say it depends - my son was 90th percentile for weight and we often had to buy 1 size up for him, pretty much from newborn, so it all depends on your baby. I always found the Carter was more 'true to size' versus Gap, but pretty close overall.
