Um...ok? This seems like such a random post to me, especially on the Entertainment board.
Anyway, I completely disagree. I guess maybe if someone announced their pregnancy during the holidays and then talked about NOTHING else the entire day, that that would be a little AW-ish. But the holidays are about spending time with family, right? And don't families support one another and revel in each other's happiness? What about people who don't get to see their families except once or twice a year, and they take that opportunity to tell everyone in person? I just think it's silly to say that a person is "selfish" and "making it all about themselves" to announce their pregnancy during the holidays. That is such a broad statement.
FWIW, when I was pregnant with my first DC, I announced during my family's Christmas dinner. I only see them once a year. Everyone was SUPER excited, hugged me, asked a few questions, and then we moved on. It was MAYBE 5 minutes out of an ENTIRE day that we focused on that. After that, we moved on, and it didn't really get mentioned again until right before we left. So if that makes me selfish, well, then so be it.
