Normal fussiness when eating?

My kiddos are 10 weeks old (6 weeks adjusted) and are exclusively formula-fed. They were on Similac Neosure for the first 7 1/2 weeks. They had awful tummy issues while on the neosure.  They were constipated, very gassy, spit up often, and just generally uncomfortable. The ped told us to try enfamil gentlease or goostart soothe. We tried the soothe for about a week and my DS seemed to do ok on it, but my DD did not. Now we are trying the gentlease and they both seem to be ok but its still very hard to feed them (they need to be burped very often throughout just 4 oz and they often seem just generally irritable while eating) and they still seem to be in pain/discomfort with bowel movements.

Are these things just normal? Should I keep trying different formula or is this just something we need to live with for now? I find myself dreading feedings and the fussiness afterwards :\

Have you tried looking into reflux? Sounds like silent reflux (DD1 had it). Feeding should be a nice bonding experience. Fussiness =/= bonding.

My DS is breastfed and he acts uncomfortable with trying to have a bowel movement each feeding, which I'm told by my ped that it can be normal. He does not act in pain so much, just very uncomfortable...wiggling all around, grunting, bearing down/turning red. Google "gastrocolic reflex" and see if that's sounds like your babies.

I had daughter in enfamil Gentlease and she was the same way! She constantly fidgeted and made noises while eating actung uncomfy, also had trouble burping and passing gas.I then tried gerber soothe which she did better on, was able to pass gas and was generally quieter after two weeks, although it did constipate her at first, but one store carries it here and they were out of stock and I was three bottles from being out of formula so now we are going to try Gerber gentle. Everything is about the same on the label minus one ingredient.

Hopefully you can find a formula that works for them. Is it insane of me to suggest using different formulas on them. I have no experience with twins but maybe they just both aren't going to like the same formulas in the long run?
