HELP Planning 1st Babyshower

I'm Looking For A Nice Yet Affordable Hall/Venue To Have My First Babyshower. Somewhere In Orange County Preferably Garden Grove , Westminister , Fountain Valley Or Santa Ana. My Price Range Is No Higher Than 400 Dollars. If Anyone Knows Of Any Places Please Reply To My Post. Thank You Very Much :)

Also, you really should not be throwing or planning your own shower. Maybe you should talk to your HOST(S) about the venue, because it's really tacky to throw yourself a party.

It's not proper to throw your own shower...if you are wanting info on a specific area try your local board. The ladies on these general boards are from all over.

The reason why showers are gifts is because I think it's insane for a MTB to pay $400 just for the venue (not to mention food, drinks, favors, cake, games, decorations, etc) for a baby shower.  Can you imagine how much further that money will go towards baby stuff?

That's why they are usually gifts, so the mom isn't paying her money for stuff for her motherhood.

If you are helping the hostess out by looking for places...try contacting the Chamber of Commerce in your area.  They are really most helpful.  The least expensive route to go is using someone's home, next would be a park that doesn't charge "rent" but you do usually have to reserve the space in advance and next would be church halls...although sometimes you have to be a member.  Where I live we have used the Senior Center...which happens to be a large reception room that has an adjacent kitchen.  It rents cheap ($50).  Check with your hostess to see if she knows someone who lives in a complex that has a community room, or belongs to a church, or VFW, etc.

As the other pps have said...1)  You don't host your own shower and 2) your local board would be much more helpful.

I am not going to venture into whether or not you are throwing your own shower.  For locations, there is an adorable tea room in Yorba Linda.  I think it is called Tea and Tea Cups.
