Inexpensive Crib for Day Care Provider

DD will be starting to go to "daycare" in mid January - my cousin will be watching her.  DD will be about 5.5 months.

My cousing plans to set up a crib in thier spare room.  Her current crib is a drop side (her youngest is 7).  Origionally she thought she had a conversion thing to make the sides safe.  But just found out that she doesn't have it (or maybe there isn't such a thing).  I might try to contact the manufacture to see if there is something to make it safe.  But since its an older crib there might not be.

So we're trying to figure out what to do for sleep/napping.  She has an extra pack n play.  But I don't think that will be very comfortable for all the time napping.  Espchally as she gets older and heavier!

I just checked out IKEA's website and was looking at the SINGLAR crib ($70) and the GULLIVER crib ($100).  Anyone use these?  Are they full size cribs?

Just to put it in perspective - I paid less than $200 for her crib at home - we got the Graco Lauren Signature Crib.  I think I paid $150?  So I am really looking for a cheap idea!

TIA!

We have Gulliver and love it.  We almost bought the Singlar but liked the styling of the Gulliver better.  There are lots of IKEA using moms on here so you will hear lots of good reviews.

The Gulliver is a great inexpensive option.  These cribs fit a standard sized mattress, but the footprint is smaller and shorter because there's not that much bulk to them.  We have the Sundvik and love it, but the Gulliver was our next choice down.

My son is 17 months and naps in a pack n play everyday and does fine. It's not as bad as you might think

We have the Graco lauren at home as well.  We bought the Sniglar from IKEA for daycare also... we use an in-home provider and needed to provide a crib that met current standards (pnp doesn't technically meet regulations, so we couldn't just give her that).

She naps well in it and it was really easy to set up at the dc providers home.  The Sniglar is a full sized crib, just very simple, but sturdy.  I think for an inexpensive option, it's a great choice.

I would try the pack n play for now, honestly.

This would work for a while, but once my LO got bigger this didn't work anymore. Every time she rolled, or spread out starfish like the sound of the PnP sides woke her up. We use an Ikea crib full-time at home and love it.

I would contact the crib manufacturer, there is probably an easy repair kit for the drop side.
