BlueMudd15:We had a wipe warmer for the first few months and will be using it with #2. Here's the rational for it, when little one was super tired in the middle of the night and I put warm wipes on him versus cold it was easier to get him back to sleep. Cold wipes woke him up and he when you're exhausted from being woke up every 3 hours it was a saving grace.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who loves the wipes warmer! Used it for #1 and still use it as a wipes holder, although I no longer plug it in, and will definitely be using it for #2! Loved it for exactly the reason PP mentioned. I also just really like it as a wipes holder. It has more weight than the disposable ones, so it stays put while you pull a wipe out which makes changing a squirmy baby easier.
Also, I have the one you linked too and never had trouble with the wipes
drying out or any burning smell or anything like that. I use Huggies Natural Care wipes in it, maybe other brands don't do as well? So while it's definitely not a necessity, I found it to be extremely useful.
