Itchiness!

So I am approximately 6 weeks pregnant and live in NY so it's obviously cold and dry and the heat has been on a lot; still, I've been exceptionally itchy like ALL over my body for a few days especially now and it's driving me crazy! I put lotion on everywhere and shower regularly but wondering if anyone else is experiencing this...like more so than a typical cold season itchy dry skin.

hm well I'm not sure if it's a "symptom" of pregnancy (lol idk maybe it could be) but um...have you used any new detergents, soap, sprays or lotions that is irritating your skin???

I don't believe I've used anything new recently, just thinking maybe it's a combo of my hormonal changes and cold weather? I guess mostly wondering if anyone else is having this reaction.

I swear I thought it was just me feeling like this! I asked my mother if she had itching with my brother or myself and she said no. She told me not to itch though, I don't know if it's an old myth or what-not that you shouldn't? I'm about 6-7 weeks myself and also from the tri-state area and notice it at night for some reason. Anyway, you're not alone, if you figure it out, please share! Best of luck! xoxo

Other than the typical not having too hot of a shower and creaming excessively .. have you tried anti-monkey butt power?  It's basically just talc with some calamine....which is safe to use. It may help with your itchiness.

That link posted above gives some reasonable solutions so I think I might try a few...also that monkey talc stuff sound interesting hehe. Thanks everyone for the info, and I'm glad someone else is having these annoying symptoms only so I know I'm not alone here lol.

omgggg!! im 12 weeks pregnant and ive never been so ichy in my LIFE! its mostly my freakin legs! Ive come to the conclusion that pregnancy makes your hair grow fast thats whats making me ichy. its ridiculous.

Same here! Im itchy every winter.
My OB said i can use lubriderm so ive been applying after i shower.

I am so itchy and cant take it anymore. I am 11weeks and mine started about a week ago. I live in Chicago so maybe it is the cold weather but I have never been this bad.
