looking pregnant when leaving the hospital

I know all of the baby weight and uterine swelling will not be gone but how pregnant do you look when living the hospital? Do you still feel pregnant?weird questions. Sry. Ftm here.
We can't wait to meet baby Mason!

I had a belly. Maybe how I looked around 22 weeks or so?  I was swollen from fluids and having a c/s so my belly was pretty sensitive and flabby.

A few days later though I felt like I was breaking a fever with how much I sweat at night. I would wake up covered in sweats. I would get up with the baby and FREEZE but go back to bed and be hot.

A week after giving birth my belly was down but soft.

 

I didn't really feel pregnant afterwards. But again I had a c/s and my belly felt tight from the stitches.

I don't think I looked pregnant. I think I looked fat. I mean, I was chubby to begin with, but definitely looked just as chubby as ever.

This was me, first two times but I didn't have a c-sec. I felt like this off and on, only at night though for the freeze... major chills, for at least a month after both deliveries. But it took awhile for my belly to go down, I didn't work at it like I should of (which I do plan on doing this time, its my last baby so no excuses).  I bought an inexpensive elliptical that midwife said ok to use after about 4-6 wks and a "shrinx" hip band I can use right away.

I have had a huge belly with every pregnancy (tons of "you won't make it to your due date!" and "are you sure it's not twins?" comments every time). I definitely still looked pregnant leaving the hospital and for the next few months. I still had to wear maternity for awhile (or large pajama pants/sweats).

PS BUT, I didn't still feel pregnant! The back pain, shortness of breath, frequent peeing, etc was gone like immediately. On the downside, it was replaced with nipple pain, some night sweats, cramping, stitches healing, etc. :(

I dont remember i wore abelly thing to help my muscle go back together so i was flat in all my pics but i didnt really gain weight with my first either...

You'll look like 6 months pregnant.

But you'll totally feel skinny. Just don't look at a mirror, and keep yourself from touching the mushy belly, and you'll feel totally hawt.

I'm 4 days postpartum and I look about 4-5 months pregnant. I don't feel pregnant but I do feel weird having an empty ute.

I looked very pregnant and super swollen from fluids. I actually looked a lot bigger when I left than when I got there. The swelling went down pretty quickly, and I didn't look quite so pregnant after about a week. The back pain, feet swelling, etc from pregnancy was gone so I didn't feel pregnant anymore.

I looked a few months pregnant but don't think I had ever felt skinnier!  It's the funniest feeling.  I lost 40 lbs from before delivering to just a few weeks after delivery.  However, I was on the "high stress" diet (wasn't eating much) for the first few weeks as DD was in the NICU and we went through a lot that first little while.  Definitely do not recommend that.  Once we arrived back home and I was nursing full time, I was frequently hungry and loosing weight at the same time.

Ugh, I had this happen after my first was 3 months old!  In my defense, I did have a nursing/transition top on that could pass for a maternity shirt and it took me awhile to lose my jiggly belly, so I did look about 4-5 months.  It still stung though, that is why I worked a little harder the second time around and have vowed to myself to work even harder after this last one is born (due in only 4 days!)

I didn't look pregnant after giving birth, just "fluffy" as my husband would say.  LOL.  I remember how soft my belly felt, it was such a weird sensation.  You will definitely need to keep some maternity jeans or stretchy waist pants around for a while along with longer shirts :-)

I probably looked about 25w pregnant or so.  You know what I really think helped my ute to shrink quickly was drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea during late pregnancy.  My postpartum nurse came to check me before we left and commented that she couldn't believe I had just had a baby.

I didn't still feel pregnant because finally my stomach could squash again when I got up.  That was a good feeling :)

I asked a lady once when she was due and she told me she had her baby 6 months earlier. This is why I never ask anymore....

A picture is worth a thousand words! Thanks for posting this!! I feel so much better knowing that I will not come home looking like I do now!! I know there isn't a baby in there after, but I always thought that the swelling would take a while to go away...you look great btw!! I can't wait to feel squishy when I get off the couch instead of a contrax!

I had a belly, but I didn't feel pregnant & I just had on baggier clothes, no maternity stuff.

Yes.  Definitely.  Not 9 months pregnant, but probably a good 6 or 7 :)

It was winter though and I was able to cover up pretty well.

I have friends who leave the hospital looking like they just ran a marathon, flat tummy, etc.  I hate on them. Haha.

I'm a STM, and I still looked pretty pregnant when I left. Most websites say you'll look about 6 months pregnant. Now, do you feel pregnant? I didn't. I felt the skinniest I had been in months.

I wouldn't plan on going home in your pre-pregnancy pants, to say the least.
