As mentioned in a post below, I have been starting to like the girl name Laken a lot. Most likely due to a very cute little girl I met about a month ago. I would really only use it as a middle name. What do the ladies here think about it?
If we have a DD her name will be Serena but, the middle name is still in the air. The top middle name choices are Brielle and Jolie. What about Serena Laken?
Love Laken!
Im pretty sure Laken will not get much love on here. But that is ok.
A serene lake?
No, sorry, I don't think Laken is a name at all, boy or girl
It's not my cup of tea, but I think middle names are a fine place to put names that have some meaning to you (even if that meaning is aesthetic rather than family-based).
I also know a girl named Larkin. Also not my favorite, but I think nn Lark is cute.

Agreed
I'm sorry, but I really don't like Laken.
Serena Brielle is my favorite of your name choices.
I will honestly tell you that I hate Laken.
However, it's a middle name. I think really anything goes in the middle name spot!
I do, however, LOVE Serena.
One of my mom's daycare kids was Lakyn. She was bipolar and looked like one of the children of the corn, so...um...yeah...not a good association with that name for me.
Personally, I like Serena Brielle. Serena Laken just doesn't flow well IMO.

This. I love Serena! I grew up near a Lake Serene, so the FN/MN combo reminds me of that, and I honestly don't find Laken feminine at all, but it's in the MN spot so I don't really care.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11
Serena is lovely, but Laken will always remind me of the crazy Sunshine mom who bleached her toddler's hair and gave her infant a manicure.
That being said, I am far more forgiving for crazy middle names than I am for first names.

I'm along these lines. Ultimately, it's NMS to have noun-y sounding names. As far as rhythm and cadence go, it's fine but I couldn't get past the serene lake part myself.
I like Laken! I would spell it Lakin, but that is just me. It is actually a last name from my hometown, so perhaps that is where it came from to begin with?
I also think Serena Laken sounds good!

I feel like Joy always says it best for me. I think Serena Jolie out of your options is really pretty! I'd be hesitant to use a name that I so quickly fell in love with just from meeting a person with the name especially when you have some other great options.

To avoid the serene lake association, Sabrina Laken may be a good alternative.
Really not a fan of Laken - it just isn't a name to me.
That said, it's in the MN spot - so go for it. It does sound funny with Serena to me though.
