If it were up to you, how long would pregnancy be?

Just for fun...

I think 40 weeks is a bit much...but you still need time to prepare for baby.  I think 7ish months would be a good amount of time for pregnancy to last.

What do you think? Anyone enjoy it so much they wish it lasted longer than 40 weeks? :)

ETA: This is assuming that any amount of time you choose would be yielding a healthy baby. :)

Well I am just glad I am not an elephant lol.  As long as it takes for the baby to be healthy is my official answer.  BUT I am quite uncomfortable right now, I think that part makes us appreciate the birth of our child a little more.

7 months for me, too (as long as he would be healthy). I'm starting to get really uncomfortable now, so I think it's the perfect amount of time.

I'm perfectly cool with 4042 weeks. I love being pregnant even though the end is uncomfortable. Just the whole "there is another human being inside me" thing, the movements, the way I look with a belly... Maybe I'm insane but I'm so content!

I don't think you're insane. I might get more uncomfortable further on but right now I'm fine. The only reason right now I wish she was out is I'm really sick, throwing up phlegm all day, it's awful, but not sure not being pregnant would make it easier except I could take strong medicine.

I think 30 weeks would be more reasonable! Haha.  But not now.  I'm not ready yet.  I have been banking on 40!

I love having almost a whole year to prepare myself and my home for a baby, but physically, I would prefer the stork.  Just let me know when the baby is here and I'm good.

Not that I don't love being pregnant; I really do.  I just don't love all of the side effects of pregnancy.  It's been really, really rough from the beginning until now and if I could eliminate those effects, 40 weeks would be lovely.  But since I can't, then I vote stork all the way.

I'm a FTM, so feel free to ask me again in 10 weeks, but I actually wish it lasted longer. I feel like I have SO much to do, and I am extremely ill-prepared! :S

Amen. DH and I were debating about having 3-4 kids, but I think I'm going to put my foot down after 3 if a third take-home baby pregnancy goes anything like these first two. Blah.

32 weeks.  Maybe with a due date of 33 weeks, and the baby came within a week of that window as often as they currently do within 2 weeks.  32 weeks was when I was done being pregnant, which would've been a nice stage for him to come at.  I was at "for the love of all things sane, get him OUT!" as of 39 weeks (pelvic pain - chiropractor put me right yesterday afternoon, though.)  REALLY hoping he goes before 40.

I like DH's solution - we just need to be marsupials.

If it were up to me pregnancy would be exactly like it is in The Sims.  The couple "Woo Hoo" then there's music.  The next day the mother gets sick and wonders if she's pregnant.  The next day the mother gets a baby bump.  One more day of pregnancy then the mother whirls around and sparkly glitter and a baby appears in her arms (she automatically fits back into her old clothes).  So like 4 days.

But in reality, 30ish weeks would be good.

I love the stork idea! I have not enjoyed being pregnant at all. I know in the end it will all be worth it but if I could forego all the crappy things and just have a baby in the end that would be perfect!

2 weeks.  But I threw up everyday for 7.5 months, unless I took Zofran.  I still felt sick the entire time, so pregnancy is NOT my friend.
