Baby Bath for the Space Deprived?

Hi all,

We have a 2 bed, 2 bath condo so needless to say space is a little tight. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on baby baths for the space deprived. They all look so big. Is a baby bath really necessary? Any advice here is greatly appreciated.

I saw the Puj baby bathtub online and thought it might work for me. It's soft and flexible. It goes in the sink but then folds out flat to dry. It's kinda expensive though.

What about the duck tub?  It's inflatable and your LO can use it past the infant stage.

We have a 2/2, we just left the baby bathtub propped up in the 2nd bathroom shower stall (we don't have bathtubs in our house!).  It unofficially turned into DD's bathroom.  I only moved the tub when we had overnight guests and they would be using that bathroom.

You can also wait and see and get a tub later.  They are really cheap, so not like you are missing out on a registry item.  I bathed DD in the bathroom sink for the first couple of months.

We live in a 3/1 and have the pink plastic tub that we've used for all of DD's baths and will continue to use until she outgrows it. It's so nice to not need to fill the big tub each time she takes a bath.
We keep her tub in the bath with the curtain pulled closed when we aren't using it. When we shower, we just put her tub on top of the closed toilet. Not perfect but it works and is much longer lasting than a puj tub and similar styles.

We registered for the Summer Infant bath sponge. One of my friends says it is great for small spaces and you can just hang it in the shower or lean it in the tub to dry. It is also cheap!

There is one that folds up flat . I think it's from Prince Lionheart. Safety 1st also makes a fold up tub that looks more like a regular tub. You could also get one of those wire and mesh hammocks and use it in the regular tub or possibly a sink if you have a big one.

We never used our bathtub. I just put her in a little sling like this in the big bathtub, or took a bath with her.

They are unnecessary in my opinion. We use a bath mat from BRU that suctions to the bottom of the tub to keep baby from sliding..

I'd say not necessary. Bathe in the sink when baby is really little, then just the big tub when baby is bigger. S.O. was actually getting into the tub WITH ds up until DS was able to sit unassisted.

I was reading a random Parent/Kid magazine, maybe even a baby one, anyways...found this little article on new/must-have baby items.  It listed this cute, yet ingenious baby bath that kind of "grows" with the child in a way. http://www.bloomingbath.com/ it is a wonderful idea.  lets baby sit comfortably in the sink and snuggles them where necessary so that you can have both hands free and they are safe.  At some point, children will grow out of the sink, but then you can put it in the tub to cushion their tush.  There is tons of info on the site along with videos.

Agree that you could skip entirely or get cheap used and toss if not needed. We hung ours inside of shower to save space w wall hooks.

this is exactly what I did too.  Once she no longer needed it I moved it to my garage.

Someone I know swears by the Munchkin safety bath sponge. I got one for under 7 at Target. We plan to use this in the sink until LO can sit upright, then we'll transition to the Prince Lionheart FlexiBath, which is a mini tub that folds flat.

I have this and am anxious to see how it works out. I have a split kitchen sink, but it is 70/30 so the traditional tubs do not fit. I thought this would be a good alternative. It can then transition to the bathtub and then just as a bathmat outside the tub. I got mine on sale at BBB, otherwise they are overpriced IMO.

We had a Puj tub and it was awful.  It didn't fit in our sink and the faucet was all in our way.  We ended up with a cheap tub from Target that is huge and is very much in the way all the time.  Soon, LO will be big enough to shower.

 The Prince Lionhart Flexibath is fantastic. It is long, but folds flat and has non-slip rubber at the folding "seams." We used a bath sling with it before DS was big enough to sit up on his own, and then used it in the regular tub when he was still pretty little for the "big" tub, but had outgrown the bath sling. You can get it on amazon.com and at buy buy baby, and I have seen it on Woot.com a few times as well. GL!
