intro and a ?

so, the bump says I'm 26 weeks, but I went to the OB yesterday and they said 27 weeks I'd like to think i'm closer to holding my baby so I'm gonna believe the OB and go ahead and join you  ladies here!

so, my question is that I woke up this morning with cramps that i swear feel exactly like period cramps, not even more wide spread or anything, located exactly where my period cramps used to be, no bleeding or anything so I'm not super worried but I'm kinda wondering what this could be, and what i can do about it, because I'd certainly like to get things done today and not be all in pain all day.

It's normal.  My OB said they are contractions.

Sounds like braxton hicks "practice contractions" pretty normal. But if you are ever concerned, def mention to your OB.

Sounds like braxton hicks contractions. Try to take it easy and drink lots of water. Usually putting your feet up help - so maybe just take breaks from whatever you're doing.

And also - I'm confused as to how your doctor is telling you that you are 27 weeks when you thought that you were only 26 weeks??

I think it may be a calculating thing, for me(and the bump I believe) it's '26 weeks have passed= 26 weeks', but for my doctor maybe it's 'you're in your 27th week= 27 weeks'? I'm not sure, according to the ticker I'm a day away from 27 weeks anyways

I've actually been getting pretty confused about when I switch from one week to another because I will get three different emails three different days of the week telling me "you're ## weeks" I don't put too much weight into it, my doctors can't even agree on a due date(long story but essentially there's a big debate between fetal gentics who does the u/s's and my OB who has consulted with my fertility doctor who took early early u/s and measurements, where team radiologist says Feb 14th, team OB/fertility doctor says Feb 25th, and now I'm switching to a midwife, so I get to see which side she is on come December 5th, lol)   so, I figure baby will just come when he's good and ready, and they keep such a close eye on me because of the GD that there's no way they'll let him get too big or come to early. As long as he keeps growing I'm not to concerned, my doctors don't seem to be.

Sounds like BH contractions.  I would keep track and make sure you aren't getting too many of them, but usually they are nothing to worry about.  I have noticed with this pregnancy, I have to slow down, otherwise I spend the next several days in physical pain-- like I tore a muscle in my stomach or something! But I still get BH contractions while I'm doing silly things like folding laundry.

As always, run it by your OB just in case! Smile
