Rank these Nicknames: Ned, Gus, Sam, etc.

I have basically accepted that any future son of mine will be nameless. In an attempt to jumpstart my imagination, I am mulling over some nicknames that I like. Maybe that will make me like some full names.

Please rank these nicknames (as nicknames — we do the formal name thing). Also, feel free to comment on them.

Iris Wilhelmina is healthy and perfect and beautiful!

1. Ned, because Winter is Coming!

2. Ben, because I seriously like this name legitimately.

3. Gus, because this name is seriously underrated.

4. Walt, because of Walter White. And Walt Whitman.

5. Nat, nothing wrong with it, but kinda dull. Nat King Cole is good though.

6. Sam, because there are too many variants of this in my family.

7. Kip, because it is the last remaining legitimate boy name.

8. Kit is a girl's name.

9. Jem is truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous.

10. Pip = Kick Me, despite Pippen and Merry.

The only one I really have any feelings on is Gus. I LOVE this nn. Good friends named their son August and call him Gus. He's so cute and I love the name on him.
