Worst reaction ever to glucose.

Finally had my screening today. Drank the drink and 20mins later was laying on a doctor bed, trying to decide whether I was going to puke or just pass right out! Sort of worries me cause everyone I know said they felt a little sick but overall were fine. Does a bad reaction mean I could be diabetic?

No, a bad reaction doesn't mean that you are diabetic. I also had a horrible reaction. I passed out on the nurse while vomiting all over her. I woke up on a bed and had to be monitored by ekg for an irregular heart rhythm. Some people just can't handle the test. Hope you feel better.

I got sick after doing the 1 hour test with DD, and passed.  I felt absolutely fine doing the 1 hour test with DS, and failed.  Hopefully you passed, and don't have to go through that again.

Nope. I know people who both have thrown up and passed out and neither failed the test.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I had a similar reaction to my 3 hour glucose, which I passed. (Tip, don't eat cinnamon toast crunch before your 1 hour :P). I had to lay down in a dark room and try not to move until it wore off. I felt terrible the rest of the day. It's just a lot of sugar and some people can't handle it. They'll call you in the next day or so and let you know. Don't stress! :)

I got sick this time and with DS and nearly passed out both times. I passed both times.

Just chiming in the same as everyone else -- I felt like DEATH while I was sitting at the doctor's office waiting for my blood draw, and my glucose levels actually ended up being LOW, so no, definitely not a sign that you might have GD.
