Back to the drawing board... need help with baby girl name

We had decided on Emery Grace. I know it recieves mixed reviews on here but we loved it however after telling people we get "Emily?? no Emery E-M-E-R-Y" so now we have second thoughts. I dont want her to have to spell her name to every person she meets. My husband likes Olivia. I am not crazy about it for 2 reasons 1. too popular 2. i picture a dark hair girl and I have blond hair so in my mind its not fitting if she has light hair. I like Ava but again may be to popular. her big brother is Jackson I know super popular but I am looking for something less common for her. Any ideas????

I just posted a few minutes ago asking for opinions on Ada. Its slightly more - what's the word - I almost feel like its a hippie name compared to Ava, which seems more sophisticated, but it's along the same phonetic lines.

Personally, though, I would just go with Emery. I actually like that name a lot - it's really beautiful. Don't worry about correcting people. You might have to correct 2 people out of 100, and those two people will be easily and politely corrected, and then life will move on. Not a big deal. It's not sacrificing a name you both love because you're afraid of correcting a few people.

I wouldn't change it. If it is people you know asking, you will only have to tell them once. If its strangers, you will never see them again.

I'd stick with Emery, too. My daughter is Reese and I'll occasionally get from strangers "Grace?" and it doesn't bother me at all. Won't be many people who will mess it up anyway. I like the name!

I like Emery! I don't think you should change it. There are people all over that get mixed up with names. I don't see what the big deal is. My name is really uncommon especially growing up. My name is Nola. And many people would say Noelle, Nicole, Nolan, Lola. It never failed. I didn't mind correcting people. Also I am sick of people freaking out about some people spelling names differently. I get changing it to something crazy but a different letter isn't the end of the world. And people who say wow they will forever be correcting... Well guess what that's part of life with a lot of names! Look at the name Kristine, Christine. No one cares! And I've had to spell my name my whole life for people and I love my name reguardless.

Our son's name is Emmery and we get that every once in a while, but the vast majority of people love his name.

Go with the name you like the best! I think Emery Grace is a great name, others won't like it, that's life. My name is Christy, common and not difficult to say but yet I still get Crystal and Cindy sometimes. If you go with Emery and people ask if it's Emily?, just sweetly say "No Emery" :)

Not a fan of Emery. Makes me think of an emery board you use to file your nails. I like Emily and Olivia much more than Emery.

I like Emery. I think the popularity is slowly growing that ppl will not ask for clarification in the future.

If you like it, I wouldn't worry about having to correct people.  We never anticipated it, but people always think DS's name is Nathan and we have to correct them and say it's Mason.  No biggy.

I love the name Emery, so I think you should stick with it! There will always be those people who aren't paying any attention, so just politely correct them and move on.

My name is Tera and I get people who say Kara or Carol... So weird. I say Tera and then typically spell it out, just to be clear.
