1st monitoring appt this AM

I had my first monitoring appt this AM!  It went well, the ultrasound tech said my follicles looked "perfect" for this stage.  I asked her how many and she told me 7-8 on my left ovary but she already did my right one without counting.  She said it was similiar though.  So as of right now it looks like 14-16 eggs in the making?!  I know things can change though.

I had a meeting this afternoon and missed the call from the office.  Apparently I have to down my dosage from 200ius follistim daily to 75 tonight and skip the HCG I've been on daily.  They didn't give me my E2 levels but I'm going to guess they are high right now.  I have to go in for another monitoring appt tomorrow morning.  I'm kind of nervous.

Anyone know what E2 levels mean in correlation with the ultrasound?  I'm hoping this isn't a bad thing.

Oh and not to complain but I'm already feeling uncomfortable...my ovaries hurt!

that sounds like good progress!

the E2 levels are supposed to be 200/mature egg. That can be a better indicator than u/s bc sometimes follies can hide.

Some tips to help w/ ovary pain

1) Get as much water/gatorade through you as possible

2) I found sitting for a long time was the worst. Laying or standing was more comfy for my abdomen

3) Have you pooped? That can increase pain as well

4) We had to drive long distance to the RE, so I extended the lap belt potion for our 2h+ drives with a clothespin! I also wore ALOT of skirts.

Basically, just do whatever you can to keep pressure off of that abdomen.

Best of luck and HTH!

Thanks for the advice lincoln!  I was sitting for a long time and I think that's why I felt so bad.  Good to know why they test your E2 levels as well...I never really knew and I just never asked...
