How long did you bleed after your LO was born?

I'm 20 days post C-section, and I'm still bleeding pretty heavily, like a period. How long did you continue to bleed for?

Additionally, does anyone have any advice on an alternative to pads? Obviously tampons are out of the question, but my lady parts feel like they are getting rubbed raw from wearing a pad for the last 20 days and the "quilted" texture. I miss the regular cotton crotches of my underwear!

i bled for 4 weeks, but it was pretty light for the last 2 weeks.  I hear you about the pad situation, no suggestions though.

5wks pp and now have very light pink discharge.  I only wear a panty liner now since 4 wk pp.

I don't know what kind of pads you use but I find Kotex to be very comfortable. They are pretty soft.

I bled pretty heavily the first four weeks and then lightly for an additional two. When my bleeding was lighter I switched to the ultra thin, I think it was Kotex brand, pads and that helped TREMENDOUSLY! I know how you feel! GL

I bled for 5 weeks PP & I used thick pads, thin pads with wings and depends at night.

Always Infinity. 

I bled for about 5 weeks.  The first 2 weeks was pretty heavy.  Then it gradually got lighter.  I used the Always Infinity pads and they are so thin.  I hear ya about the uncomfotableness of the pads so try these.

About 3.5, 4 weeks...now it's just yellow-ish discharge, which my OB said is normal.

I feel your pain about missing the comfort of just undies!! I'm still bleeding at 4 weeks post c-section, but it's tapering off and just light discharge now. I hope the end is near for you!

I bled for about 6 weeks pp.  The first 3-4 were heavier and then the last two weeks were really light until it finally stopped.

Always Infinity!

I only bled for about 2 weeks this time post c/s, and have had a mucousy pinkish discharge for the past week and a half. After my first c/s I bled for about 6 weeks.

I bled for exactly 4 weeks. It tapered of at about 10 days, then came back.

I think I only bled for maybe 2 weeks (vag delivery) - but I spotted and "discharged" even now - at 9 weeks pp.

I can also recommend the always infinity - I fought it (I'm a stayfree girl) but it really did help - I also switched to glad rags : http://www.amazon.com/Menstrual-Color-Cotton-Pads-Pack/dp/B0001ZZJQ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354121018&sr=8-1&keywords=glad+rags

If you don't mind the fact you have to wash them - the "Pad rash" I had was so horrible I was willing to do anything.

2 weeks after a c-section.  Never had heavy bleeding, switched to pantyliners at around 10d pp.  No spotting or other discharge for the past wk (i'll be 3w pp tmrw)

I bled for 4 weeks, but I also had an infection (endometritis).  Are you in any pain?  Passing clots?  If so, call your OB.  I had to take 7 days of 2 antibioitics.

Also, Always Infinity pads ROCK!  They are the best.  Expensive but worth it.

Baby # 1 was about 5 weeks.  With baby # 2, it looks like at 3 weeks it's pretty much just some light spotting now.

I bled for a little less than 5 weeks, but I still have a weird yellow discharge, which I guess isn't a yeast infection or infection of any kind (I was checked at my 6 week appointment and it's all apparently fine).

As for an alternative to pads, I wore Depends most of the time. I had the plastic-y ones, but I got a sample of the "more underwear" feeling ones and I loved those!

With my first (c-section) 7 weeks, very heavy, then got my period two weeks later, ugh. This time after cmy repeat it's very light two weeks out so I'm hoping for a much shorter time. Another reccomendation for the Always Pads!
