So I have a bacterial infection that we are going to get cleared up. Step one. Official diagnosis is VVS (google it) and pelvic floor dysfunction. There really is no good cure for VVS as they don't really know what causes it (fortunately? I had Dr Google'd myself with that, so it wasn't a big shock). Right now we are starting a lidocaine cream nightly and before sex to help with that pain, they drew blood to check T levels. If low we will add a testosterone/estrogen compound cream in the mornings as well.
For the pelvic floor dysfunction, they are recommending physical therapy. I am still finishing up getting my hip back in good working order (which may or may not be contributing, it's one of those things where it is hard to tell). They gave me a referral for the physical therapist. I am going to check with my chiro to see if he feels comfortable trying to treat that as well (he tends to lean more toward sports injuries), and if not once he feels I am done with my hip rehab (which may well be tonight), I will give the other place a call to get started on that.
Go back in a month to see how things have progressed. Oh, and they were pretty damn awesome. I got a whole team- the main Dr, the PA, and an OB resident- for this appointment.
Glad you have a plan, GM!
Can you tell me about the bolded? I have some lidocaine cream to deal with some wicked PP tearing (like, not because of birth, tearing) and I've toyed with using it before sex the first time PP. When do you apply it?
