weight gain

I am gaining too much weight. I was about one or two pounds overweight when I got pregnant. My dr. wanted me to gain 15-25 pounds. I have already gained about 17 pounds. Is anyone else having trouble with weight gain. I want to eat too many sweets!

Me!! I eat waaaay better now than I did pre-preg, salad with grilled chicken and piece of wheat bread three nights a week. I also walk/jog two miles four times a week, which I did not do before getting pregnant.  And I still gained a consistant 1lb a week!!! My doctor said that I can gain 35lbs total.  I am at 35 weeks, and I have already gained 35lbs.

I don't know what else I could do!  I know that I have not enjoyed food this whole pregnancy because I was scared of it!!! One chocolate shake = 3lbs on my hips! haha!

yes I have. I have always struggled with my weight and had actually lost 50 pounds pre pregnancy. I was doing okay with weight gain til my 3rd trimester, I have gained about 40 lbs total and I'm almost 37 weeks. My dr only wanted me to gain 20 total so yeah. I have been taking good care of myself though, eating well and exercising. There's really nothing else I can do! I am soooo hungry lol

I've gained about 40 lbs this time no matter what I did, although it was better than the 60 I gained last time. In my mind if I am really eating the way I need to and taking care of myself my body is going to gain whatever it feels it needs to. Don't get too discouraged and just limit the amount of sweets although its hard!!

I gained around 50 lbs with my DD and was up 17 at my 24 week appointment. I think there is only so much control we have over how much we gain. I think I am screwed between just entering third tri and Christmas.

I wouldn't worry too much. You are on track to maybe gain 30 or so lbs which isn't much over the range your dr gave. I gained over 50 with DS and my OB was never worried about it. I was still up a few lbs when I got pregnant again and I've gained 22 so far. Again my OB says she isn't worried and the baby is doing fine. Just keep getting some healthy stuff in.

Yes, I am really struggling with weight gain. I am 36 weeks 2 days and I have gained 34.5 pounds already. This is with trying to eat healthy and not allowing myself huge portions etc. And I have consistently done pilates 2x a week and walked 3-4 times a week. 17 lbs is really very good for 29 weeks, I dont think you will go much over 25 lbs if at all so I wouldnt worry...

I was over weight before getting pregnant so I wasn't supposed to gain as much as well. Unfortunately I gained too much but now for some reason, even with several indulgences throughout the week but overall trying to eat better meals I have been hovering over the same weight range. I think I went through a growth spurt in my second trimester and now I have been able to keep things more under control. Honestly, as long as you are eating well, walking, doing some kind of activity through out the week you should be fine. I thought at the rate I was going I would still be gaining but I've been able to manage it better now. Better late than never huh? lol

I've gained 56 so far. I bawled and cried when I hit the 35 mark because I knew I was out of the recommended range. My Dr said she's not concerned. I'm more mad at myself for letting it get this way.
