Motorola video monitor from BRU black friday

Did anybody else buy the Motorola video monitor from BRU black friday sale? What do you think of it? Ours came in today we were excited to set it up but kind of disappointed in it now. It says it has a color screen but I have a black crib with a chocolate brown sheet in the pic the sheet looks white! The lights in the room are on but the blinds are closed, opening them makes it a little better but not much. Since baby isn't here yet we put a stuffed animal in the crib you can't even make out its face or tell what it is.

The sound seems clear the talk back feature is nice. I suppose you get what you pay for but I was expecting a little more. : Trying to decide if I should keep it or just buy an audio monitor with the talk back feature.

I just got ours today but we haven't even set it up yet.  Our LO is sleeping in a bassinet in our room for right now, so we don't really need it right now.  I wonder if the discoloration has to do with the "night vision" that is on it?

Not sure which Motorola you have but we have the 3.5in one with the color screen.  It's color in day mode but it sounds like yours is in night mode due to the dark colors.

We really like the monitor and even in night mode, I can make out his features pretty well.

The one I got is small, it has a 1.8 inch screen. It is normally 139.99 & they had it for 69.99 on Black Friday. There were no reviews on it yet on their site though. My husband played with it some & set up some more lights around the crib & it did seem to help. It must be something to do with the night vision. I do plan to put a lamp in there but with the light on & blinds open it still looks like that & it's not going to get too much brighter.  =/ I still have 4 weeks to go so maybe I'll just wait & see. It might be different with an actual baby =)

On another note I also bought the  $10 audio only monitor they had & I actually like it! It just plugs into the wall so there are no cords or batteries to charge. Of course it is not one you can carry around with you or talk back or anything but the sound is really clear & won't have to worry about it going dead!

If the camera sensor doesn't get that much light, the mode will be infrared and grayscale.  Unless you have a bright light in the room, expect the colors to be muted.  Not sure why your brown sheet would look white though, as our motorola monitor shows brown as black.  We have the 3.5" model and I really like it, but the bigger screen makes a world of difference.

The video has been really useful for us, keeps us from running up the stairs for every little peep.

ETA:  I have yet to find a real use for the intercom feature.  Maybe it's more useful for older kids.

Ditto the 3.5" version recs, it's awesome! Can't imagine the quality will be very good on such a small screen though. On mine, I can make out the pattern of her pajamas and see her face, if her eyes are open or closed, etc.

I got this off of Woot.com 9months ago, its only in color when the lights are on, the color will look off if sun is out and curtains/blinds are closed because its kind of in night mode. That being said, ours is pretty much shot, the battery is completely dead in ours, and now it will not stay charging and it unlinks while my toddler is napping. I loved it while it worked but now motorola is being a PITA replacing it. I called Monday, had to send them my receipt which I did so by email and it took them till yesterday to respond. I had to resend my receipt to them via email and I have read it will take about 2weeks to get a new one. Ours is only working when it wants too so I am looking into something else.. Just fair warning. I have the MBP 20 and they are giving me an MBP28 when they do replace it..
