Impatient Woman

Has anyone else read the Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant?

I found it interesting and funny. She does sort of disprove some common ways of thinking/things that we learn from lots of other books, etc but says that she did the back research of where the statistics come from and for example, one of them was from 18th century rural France (i.e. totally not comparable to our lives)! 

Of course, she is not a doctor....but we all know that even doctors say the darnest things!

What did you think of it?

I have never read it. Funny is good though :) Have you read Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. It has no useful info about TTC but it is beyond funny!

I read it too and I thought it was really helpful and informative. She does the research and adds in her own life's experiences. I plan to read it again when we really start to TTC.

I didn't read it but a while ago there was an actually interesting discussion here about the validity of her statements. You should look it up.

I just read it and I really liked it, but who knows if she things she stated are fact or not.

I did read it, its pretty funny and has some good information but it is not a "scientific" book, so I am sure there are thing that may be false.

I read it a couple months ago and really enjoyed it, though I do wonder about the validity of some statements. I really liked her style of writing.

No new info, except some tenuous theories backed up by little real scientific data.  I didn't think she was funny either.  It's so short, I read it in one sitting and then was like "That's what I paid $9.99 for?"  I really wanted to like it, too!

I'm actually reading it now. I'm half way through and I like it.

She definitely makes it an easy read, but I will say I did "side eye" some of her research.

It was a gift from a friend she lives across country from me and mailed it to me..but it was funny I wasnt reading it to gain knowledge just for a few laughs which it provided. I was pregnant with DD and needed a good laugh.

I've read it and really liked it. I enjoyed the author's writing style and there was a lot of good info there. I also liked that all of the studies she looked at were cited so you could check them out for yourself. It was the 4th TTC book I'd read, so there wasn't a lot of new info in it, but I liked her perspective and it was entertaining.

My library just got it in a few weeks ago so it was only a 14 day loan.  With the holiday and being busy I only got through half of it.  So far I like it and its an easy read.  
TTC since 10/11 Started testing 1/13 HSG, Saline Sono, BW, MRI for slightly high Prolactin All tests came back normal DH- SA normal Diagnosis: Unexplained 3/13 Clomid 50mg/trigger/IUI #1/Endometrin BFN 4/13 Clomid 100mg/trigger/IUI #2/ Endometrin BFN 5/13 Clomid 100mg/trigger/IUI #3/ Endometrin ???
